That was nothing a renegade interrupt to the head wouldn't have solved, if you ask me.

Why WASN'T that an option? Even my Paragon Sheps would pick that over the BS the writers came up with.

That convo with Thane was one of those moment he could've tried but I thought about it and all it would accomplish is them going around in circles because Thane is convinced his body kills not him.

Now Spector girl should've had quite the rebuttal. She asks if I know what Cerberus has done and all I can say I know but it doesn't matter? Hello! Shep! Your unit died on Akuze because of them that doesn't matter?! I wanted to say a hell of a lot more then that! To me it does matter who they are they're the scum of the universe I got railroaded into working for!

Then there was the whole 20 year grudge argument with Zeed that could've been done better too.

Oh yeah and the whole hey we found the camp full of girls on Jacob's LM that was some chance for some real dark **** and BW totally ran away from that one.

Shepard has never proven to be particularly bright, tenacious as hell... but, I don't think they're firing on all cylinders.

Or he/she is just manipulating Thane into thinking he's bought into his bullshxt.

Consider that Shep is about to lead his or her squad on a suicide mission, and his/her life is literally going to be in Thane's hands.

Does Shep really want to burst Thane's bubble and possibility earn his animosity, or is it just better to just blank stare, nod, and look for an oppurtunity to change the subject?

Hell I do that at work all the time. Image IPB

That kind of pissed me off, I wish there was a renegate interrupt to punch her in the face before she dies, or at least some sort of an argument Shepard could say before Vasir dies to shut her up and add insult to injury and death.

Shepard has never been portrayed as particularly intelligent, which is... really unfortunate.

Even in the first game, when we were uncovering Saren's plans and then the existence of the Reapers, everyone else always connected all the dots and Shepard just provided the pithy one-liners ("You're just a machine - and machines can be broken.")

Our grand strategic plans against the Reapers? "We fight or we die."

Compare that to other protagonists in Bioware's games, say Revan or Master Li's apprentice, and Shepard looks like a charismatic soldier but not someone who is particularly bright.

It could change in ME3, but I've been pretty frustrated with how few opportunities are given to argue against some of the crap people say in the games.

Really, I wish we could use "I'm tired of your disengenuous assertions" on people other than Al-Jilani, because it's hilarious. Winning arguments the Shepard way!

That bothered me a lot more than the Thane thing. I strongly believe that Shepard dropped the matter out of respect, and because he wasn't sure if it was some truly alien concept.

But with Vasir, it's so easy to destroy her "look in the mirror argument". Shepard is working WITH Cerberus, temporarily. Vasir is working FOR the Shadow Broker, continually. She's killing innocent people on the Shadow Broker's orders, without any hesitation or questions--which even Renegade Shepard never does.

She also apparently missed the obvious memo that the Shadow Broker purposefully prevents any faction from gaining an edge. Sure, she may get the location of a slaver base now and then, but the Shadow Broker probably gave other slavers the patrol routes/schedules of the Alliance. Even Barla Von, who dealt with the Shadow Broker occassionally, knew this.Image IPB

Shepard usually solves philosophical debates with a gun so give him a break.

WHAT!? That counter was simple and normal! Shepard has above average intelligence for those of you doubting. He knew that biotic barriers could protect against Collector swarms and how to infiltrate the Collector Base.

It depends on the player. You can be an idiot Shepard or a very smart one.

He's going to be the opposite of Garrus, mark my words. He'll be a (bisexual) goody two shoes as they said he isn't experienced with "the criminal and political underbelly" of the universe. He won't get along with ReneShepard.

In your head canon change what your Shepard says to something smarter.
That's what I do whenever Shepard opens his mouth.

Hey guys I've got an idea. Let's walk into the middle of the collector base and plug it into the Normandy's computer. What's the worst thing that could happen?

He was described as naive. Shepard, good or evil, will successfully mold that boy

I must have missed this. Is that when Legion says he's ready to exchange data with EDI?

No, when they first bring him in. There is also the matter of putting Thane (the assassin we just found and Jacob doesn't trust!) into life support. There are a lot of Shepard dolt moments in ME2.

Well, the Normandy isn't exactly a flying hotel   Shepard has to use every corner of the ship

Yes. My gripe no. 1 with Shepard. It was already bad in ME1, but in ME2 it appears as if the writers had no idea what they were actually writing about OR they intentionally portrayed Shepard as stupid. But whatever the reason, I find it hugely annoying that the game prevents me from playing an intelligent Shepard.

And allowing a Cerberus hating psycho criminal to roam around unsupervised in the bottom of the ship underneath engineering.

I came up with my own Lazarus Project story, but I don't change things I see onscreen. That's looney.

How's it looney?
The voice and dialogue Bioware has forced on me is awful so instead of playing the game hating my character I just scrap his voice and half the stupid things he says and replace it with a voice and dialogue that I can actually enjoy.

It's not a perfect solution but it gets me by.
