Well basically this stems from doing a few loyalty quests and then stuff like killing off the dalish happens, and I'm wondering if there's any alternate methods to events like that?

I'm also wondering how you can change who your romantic person is because well... anders wasn't choice numero uno.

Lastly, aside form completing quests by individuals is there any friendship/rivalriy marker where they'll ask for help with something else? This curiosity stems forom the fact that I only have two peoples armors fully upgraded, and I noticed the last two slots usually fill from their quest.

The answers are yes, no in Anders' case but yes for others, and yes the indicator is the quest Questioning Beliefs popping up for each companion in Acts 2 and 3.

Yes, using the wiki entries for each quest, you can know which responses to take to get the result you want. You can also read the description of each party member to get a feel for how they think and what they want to hear and see.

well i already got the what they want to hear and see thing it's just the killing one person to save another sorta thing I have a problem with.
Like I know Merril basically likes being talked to and pro-mage stuff, aveline likes order and templar support sorta things, anders obviously pro-mage, anti-templar, and then anything nice, etc. I'm roughly around act 3 midway I think, I just killed off pride... with the dalish >..>, found out I won't fight xebenkeck or whatever, slayed the high dragon, and now I'm doing whatever remains before what I percieve as probably some big screwed up plat twist or maybe a pleasant ending.

BUt yeah i read the wiki for some quests, and well thanks guys, now I know to basically stick with whoever I want to romance till act 2 is over.
