A lot of people could take shepard

Garrus- is a top ranked hand to hand specialist in the turian military

Wrex and Grunt- Krogans that love fighting and have tough bodies made for combat.

Thane- hand to hand master. honed in him by hanar.

Jack- looks like she could hold her own in a bar fight

Good post, but you're forgetting Thane.

I could see Garrus vs. Shepard being a pretty even match. Garrus has reach, but Shepard has flexibility...

You mean instahealing, cybernetic enforced skeleton and muscle [insert classpower here] Shepard? in a fist fight? If n alien with the strength of three Krogan and mind of a salarian couldn't kill him/her and got beat down by their fists, no one organic could, next thing you know with the new Melee's shepar will start punching Reapers.

As someone has already said Shepard has melee'd to death nearly every organic and synthetic species we have come across, it's up to a Reaper to stop the brawling madman now.

Any Krogan so Grunt and Wrex. Samara with or without biotics. Thane doesn't have Shep's strength but has skill, a fair chance at winning imo.

Garrus could win against ME1 Shepard but I'm not so sure about the cybernetic enhanced ME2 version. Jack is crazy but has no discipline.

Krogan's simply because they're krogans (2 of everything y'know), although me2 sheppard would probably give them a fair run for their money; Thane because he's trained in killing an assortment of organics in straight combat (-> shadow broker files).

Zaeed might have beaten shepard when he was younger.

Samara as a Justicar she's well versed in combat (and age gives a ton of experience), will probably also beat shepard.

The rest:
Jacob even though he sports the 'abs' he doesn't seem like he has gotten a lot of combat training compared to shepard.
Kaidan, too dependant on his biotics.
Ashley, considering she's probably similar in training as shepard she might have stood a chance pre me2, after me2 shepard would win.
Miranda, she's smart, and genetically enhanced, but i doubt she has lotsof combat experience considering she relies heavily on biotics.
Tali, obviously she wouldn't win, unless she has an Alien or Predator face under that mask.
Mordin, fairly certain that back in his younger days he probably was quite skilled, but in his current state he probably won't even put a scratch on shep.
EDI, would definetly win, even upgraded shep would get squished by a couple tons of metal.
Joker, doubt he'd even let a punch hit him before he surrenders
Liara, not enough experience in combat.
Garrus, me2 garrus vs me1 shepard is probably pretty tied, me2 shepard would break him though.


Not sure:
Legion, never really seen him do things aside from shooting, but i'm gueessing he has programs on him that would allow for close combat fighting, then again, the geth might not even consider close combat as an actual event that could happen.

Beating Sheppard isn't about strength it is about brains.
That makes the list: Thane, Wrex, Garrus, Samara, Zaeed and Mordin who have the experience and intuition to compete with Sheppard.
Honorable mentions to: Ashley*, Miranda, Jack and Legion who have the melee skill but not the experience.
*Reserves the right to re-evaluate if Ashley has gotten career experience beyond the previous colonial garrison duty while shep was dead.

Yaghs stronger than krogans and still you know result. Grunt can be even turned off by a piece of table [it weights around a ton but still].

I'd like to see Thane's face if he try use one of his anit-human tricks on Shepard.

Yo! i completely agree with you in the first four Wrex, Grunt, Thane, Samara, and Zaeed

But imo I could see Jacob givin Shepard a run for his money, but in the end would still lose regardless of me1 or me2 version of shepard.
As for Ashley i could see her winning if she went for the gonads but that only applies to male shepard, also i think male Shepard would have an easier time because weight if he were able to start grappling with ashley im sure he would win especially if he got her in full guard, hed just be too heavy for ashely to hold of. regardless of me1 or me2 version. But I still think femShep would beat her, maybe not as easily but would still come out on top

Jack i think would suffer the same fate as  Ashley and Miranda, plus she has absolutely no discpline and relies too much on her biotics.
Kasumi is the only girl i feel would stand a chance only because she seems to be very agile, but if Shepard got a hold of her she'd prolly lose regardless of me1 or me2 version of himself. 

Legion would equal a loss, he, she, it is a machine suffers no fatigue and i doubt a bare handed shepard could keep on punching metal

Ashley mentions she's a straight up puncher, probably got high points in Marine hand to hand (the stuff the USMC teach their guys is considered the third most lethal martial art in the world), that said, Shepard's stronger, has more experience and probably learned dozens more non-human techniques during N7 training. So, weight, height, reach and experience are on his side. Ash is probably more flexible, possibly even better at grappling, since she's got the strength to pull off some of the trickier moves.

Shepard would win, but he'd have a ****load of bruises at the end of it.

FemShep vs Ashley....I don't know but I would pay a fortune to see it.

Question, just out of curiosity.  I thought it was stated that they didn't change Shepard at all?  Didn't Miranda state that The Illusive Man wanted Shepard exactly as he was and that if he was changed in any way that the Lazarus Project would have been a failure.

I'm guessing aria could paste shepard. She's way more powerfull than benezia and liara and she probably took on wrex face to face (not cowardly backstabbing like shep had to resort to)

I'm pretty sure everyone except Kasumi and Tali could take her in a fist fight, but if Kasumi can use her spiderman-jujitsu (it'd consider that cheating cause she has to have cybernetics to do what she did on Hock's gunship) I'd say she can beat her up.

Wait, femshep could probably beat Chakwas and Kelly. As far as non-crew, maybe Liara.

Besides which  FemShep is still running around clocking creatures like the Shadow Broker...w/dem arms. Even male Shep doing that is....<_< But those skinny arms haven't stopped FemShep, yet.
