Hello
I have a problem. I finished the "NG+" hardcore in ME1 and I want to play the same character on Insanity to get 60th lv and Insanity achievment. But when I start new game and wanna use existing id, the game is automaticaly hardcore again. The first gameplay was normal and veteran difficulty meddling. I do not know where is the problem then.

I probably used same method as raising difficulty in menu and then I started the new game but on hardcore. Hardcore was there on my 50+ run and I get also the hardcore achievment. But I cannot do that with Insanity.

Possible solution could be changing difficulty before last boss, and that would probably save into a profile for new game. But I have overwritten that file -.-

Other option could be maybe to change the difficulty before entering on Prime Eden, but I would not believe to that, cause ihere is noted no swapping of difficulty in achievement list, . I do not want to try Insanity adept purgatory and in the end not get that achievement.

Any ideas, or have I screwed that with that save? I am confused here....
Thanks.

Well, seems it is ok, to change the difficulty before touching the beacon on Eden Prime. Can be applied e to every Ievel. I have found some articles like that:

"You have to change the difficulty to insanity BEFORE examining the beacon on Eden Prime. You might want to do it once you take control of your character just so you don't forget, but if can remember, do what I did."

The safe way? Change it immediately after the start of the game. I am sorry for plaguing the forum with this question. I was too tired to search more. Hope this thread helps to someone.
