Should have gotten a formal promotion after saving the Citadel, but being a spectre sort of nullifies any rank sine Shepard can do whatever she wants unless the council says don't do it.

I think most of us are assuming that Shepard's rank is "Commander." This is incorrect. Shepard's rank is "Commander Shepard." It's only tentatively attached in the chain of command, and there's not actually anything above it, since it sort of floats in a space off to the top-right by a string.

Back to topic: Since it seems that Shepard will have rejoined the Alliance military in ME3, I can see him promoted to Captain, although that might not happen until the epilogue. Saving the galaxy from the Reapers should be worth a promotion.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the council would strip Shepard of his/her spectre status after what happened in Arrival. Then we'd have to get reinstated in ME3. Again.

I'd only leave ashley if she said some racist comment to Garrus and Wrex again. That was the reason I originally nuked her in ME1. XD

When i met her i was like "Huh. She could be cool" later on the Normandy.

Ashley: "I don't trust Garrus and Wrex because they're aliens. They shouldn't get full access to the Normandy."
