I could go for Commodore Shepard.
Me too. Shepard would be a great backup singer, at least.

To what?
Anderson: Shepard, you will now be promoted. You are above even Big Boss! We now give you the title of Like-A-Boss. You are a true patriot!
Shepard: I should go. *walks away*
Anderson: [i]Like A Boss.
I laughed so hard that i puked up the ice cream i just ate :innocent:

To what? A Master Chief is the highest ranking NCO rank in a navy. The UNSC follows the same ranking structure as most NATO countries. The only promotion for the Master Chief would be MCPO of the UNSC Navy or getting an Officer Commission.Massadonious1 wrote...
Nah.
It's like promoting Master Chief.
Back on topic. I would be too bothered if Shepard weren't promoted but I see no substantive reason why He/she shouldn't.

Commodore is an antiquated rank higher than Captain but below Rear Admiral.IEatWhatIPoo wrote...

How about Lord Shepard, like that wacky dude in ME1?
Or how about we go all 18th Century with the Title: Master and Commander?
Edit: Fixing link
Or how about Lord and Master like Foamy the Squirrel?

Actually I'd like to see Shepard get demoted during the trial based on our actions from the previous games. Then at the end if we survive then get a promotion.
Maybe if Shep were higher in rank but he/she is only a mid-rank as it is. If Shep were an Admiral and got busted down to Captain like Kirk in Star Trek, that'd be one thing but busting a Commander down in rank is just petty given the situation Shep is on trial for.

Hmm I'll have to disagree here. I wouldn't look at as being petty if you broke protocol/etc you should be demoted. Considering ME2 and how Shepard isn't with the Alliance it would be logical for him to be demoted. Only to have Anderson with Hackett's approval reinstate him to either private or to Commander again. And if we follow certain mission paths and stay true to the Alliance we should be promoted. But hey I'm all for being Commander again. Rank doesn't really mean much to my Shepard anymore.

Shep was with Cerberus in ME2, and in ME3, he starts out at a hearing, and then the Reapers invade.

Though, Spacer's mom is also a captain...
That'd be a weird thing to do. Pull rank on your own mother.
