nope.

he "died", was marked as KIA.
went rogue after being brought back.
worked with a terrorist organization for a year.

why should he be promoted?

Maybe because I saved the galaxy and humanity..... no big deal. Man, Im am so gonna have the last laugh.

that earns you a medal. not a promotion.
they dont promote people who constantly go rogue, ignore orders, and do whatever they want.

i mean at the start shepard is having a trial for war crimes. you dont promote people who are going on trial lol

BW better make up for Shepard having to deal with all this bull****. The galaxy doesn't deserve Shepard.

Being spector is promotion enough. Now if for some reason you can opt to be Alliance only and forgo Spector/ working for the council again then maybe but remember he was on trial with the Alliance for warcrimes found innocent or not no one who goes through that gets a promotion they either get discharged, get a down grade in status, or stay the same rank but get booted somewhere out of the public eye like a backwater base.

We're more likely to get a demotion than a premotion since we're on trial.

Since Shepard is going to be saving the galaxy and building an army to take down the Reapers am I the only one that thinks Shepard should get an official promotion? In ME1 we were promoted to a Spectre which was good enough all we had to do was find a crazy Turian but now we're going to be giving orders to entire armies it seems that the rank of Spectre is too small for something like that. Maybe the Council could give Shepard emergency authority so he'd be in charge of the major military decisions (LIke focusing all resources on Earth).

Maybe Supreme Commander Shepard? Who thinks Shepard should get official athority from the Council or the Alliance? Do you think he needs it or would you prefer not to get that kind of power?

At the end of your typical galactic day cycle, Shep is just one man... Spectre status is enough, let the real tacticians and five star Generals/Admirals focus on the war effort while Shep gets them the info THEY need to make up to date decicions while Shep and team also speaks to other races immediately bypassing bureacatic BS....

PS. plus the finding of Plot weapons against the Reapers

Nah.

It's like promoting Master Chief.

Not at all, because Master Chief is the highest enlisted rank in the Navy. Promoting John-117 would require giving him an officer's commission, and then you would have to call him Ensign. Ensign sounds stupid compared to Master Chief.

Actually he'd be Chied Warrant Officer.  Annd you would still call him Chief and be required to salute.
