What I like about Dragon Age is the story and the world and it's lore. I don't think I would have looked over all the faults the sequel has if it wasn't connected with Origins.

DA2 has one huge advantage, namely that it takes place in the Dragon Age universe.

It is also a disadvantage because that means it will get compared to origins and origins is just a bigger and better game (though bigger doesn't always mean better). I don't think people would be as harsh as they were on DA 2 if it wasn't a sequel to DAO it would just be another game to them. Personaly I still like DA 2 but at the same time there were instances in DA 2 where I said to myself "I wish I was playing Origins"

In answer to the initial question posed by the OP. No I'm not in the habit of self denial, it is what it is and thats average at best and poor with regards to comparrisons with Biowares past titles. My opinion has been the same since day one because the game itself is the same as back then with only some bug fixes and some item packs but the core game hasn't changed so neither has my opinion of it.

no. i thought the game was average. i never put it on the BEST GAME EVAR pedestal. if DA2 had been made by another publisher as their first game it would of been good but since bioware is held to a different standard (never understood this btw) this game is just average. i like the game but i also acknowledge its obvious faults.
