I support this wholeheartedly. I've played ME2 more times than I can count, and having to sit through the into every time is an annoyance. Perhaps the 1st time have it un-skippable. But after that, skipping becomes available.

Also, I support the differentiated button skipping, and button accepting. I hate accidentally choosing a dialogue answer while trying to skip.

Actually the intro can remain unskippable, and instead I'd rather have a forced save before the character creator (call it "Save 0" or whatever).

I would love a skipable intro. I've learned that i got enough time to find some food downstairs and get some coffee before the damn intro is over in ME2

I can't imagine why anyone would be against this. Seems my imagination is wrong.

More importantly, this feature is important for people just getting into the game and using the character creator feature, only to find that in the right lighting their character's features are hideous beyond ignoring.. And so they have to repeat the intro just to change a mistake... This is so garbage, and they need a skip.

1. OMFG I'm crying!
2. Damn, that intro DOES kick butt
3. Talk along with anything that is said like one would with the Big Lebowski or Resevoir Dogs (dude!)
4. reply after anything said with "stfu Donny"
5. Tab out for as long as it runs, go **** on BSN about the damn intro not being skippable.
6. repeat 5.
7. repeat 5
8. start game, do the talking, get joker, make dinner, eat, make character hoping that the ****ing helped
9. repeat 5
10. refuse to start yet another game because the intro is so damn long and by the time you're through the intro I lost my want to play.

Because a scene that never changes regardless is the same as a scene where the player can make a difference eh?

If you seriously have the time to replay a 15 hour game 30 times, why can't you sit through the 30 minute intro? It's got nothing to do with the fact that you can't make a difference. You're just being impatient.

edit: sorry dujh, I didn't see your post. But if it's just the Normandy being blown up part, we're talking 10 minutes!

15 hours my eye.  My shortest play though is 25 hours and I didn't do any of the N7 missions.  But then I don't skip scenes.  To me they are the best part, besides blowing stuff up.:bandit:

skipping scenes and dialog really cuts down the time it takes to do a playthrough

A ple-planned screw up playthrough with absolute minimum of loading time from deaths etc. with every scene skipped would take about 2 hours.

After having obsession to create few aesthetically pleasing characters (I have no idea how much time I have spent in character creation and playing through Lazarus Station cut scenes), I no longer bother with skippaple intro. Someone spent time and effort to make it and I like it.

5 runs? Huh.
1. OMG Shepard dies! Normandy is destroyed! Look at that planet! OMG it's the most exciting thing I've seen in my life!
2. Hello again, Kaidan. This armour is really stupid. Won't you mind I choose all renegade responses this time?
3. Liara, you're in Phoenix nonsense too? Let's hope it won't last.
4. Move along, nothing to see here
5. I hope you'll got lung cancer, illusive bastard
6. (alttabed to BSN, told someone dead Shepard won't be transferred to ME3, switched back, ran to Joker and spoke to him, alttabed back, saw another "fav LI thread", facepalmed, returned to ME2, created character)
7. (found out that created face just horribly animated, headkeyboarded, repeated 6)
8. die TIM die TIM die TIM...
9. (drinks vodka) let's see...
10. (found out that imported not that Shepard I was going to play and drank more vodka)
11. (looked at Shepard created yesterday, screamed from horror, deleted, started again)
12. KUPYLA MAMA KONYKA A KONYK BEZ NOGY TA SCACHE TA GYRYCAE YGY YGY YGY
13. oh intro, we've been so many things together...
14. .....
15. ..... wake me when dialogue wheel will appear, ok?
16. (started new game and went for a walk, returned hour later, went to Joker, talked, made housekeeping, returned in evening and started to play)
17. (same as 16 but with interrupt on blackout)
18. (same as 16)
19. DAMN! Why can't this creator give any idea how face will look in actual cutscenes! Blasted cheekbones and duck lips! New try!
20. /bored even remembering that/

On a serious note, I'd love to see this improvements:
1. every cutscene is skippable, especially if it's intro or after that cutscene there's no autosave and very difficult battle.
2. pause available during cutscenes
3. possibility to repeat cutscenes on Shepard's terminal - "mission logs", to not youtube if missed important detail or importance was revealed later

so i'm just starting my 30th odd playthrough of me2 and i hate having to sit through miri talking to tim and normandy being destroyed while rescueing joker, i mean i liked it the first 2-3 times after this many times i just hate it. please bioware make mass effect 3 able to skip the intro cinematic

Yep, made the same post few days ago. Don't you just love it when the game freezes up just at the character creation screen and you need to watch the whole damn thing again?

Oh! And would it be too much to ask, to be able to check how Shepard's face looks in diffirent lightning and in game? Because the character creation screen hardly gives the whole truth, especialy when it comes to facial animation.

I probably have close to 20 ME 2 playthroughs under my belt and even more ME 1 playthroughs and I never skip dialog (exception being when I die and I have to play something over again).

I have had to sit through that cutscene way too many times trying to get a face that doesn't look like a distant relative of Ugly Shepard! So yes.
