Yes, I loved mako, I don't know why they got rid of it.

Mako >>> Firewalker

All they had to do was choose environs a bit more to make the mako less of a chore. I hated playing lava frogger with the hover craft.

I liked the mako. I just hated the worlds that we drove it on. If it was on a metropolis world it would be epic. Give me an awesome place to drive it and i'll totally take it back as long as they fix the controls and fix it flipping over every five seconds

The Mako was awesome compared to the Hammerhead. It was way more durable and the main gun had an excellent punch.

No, skip vehicles entirely.

now if they combine the best qualities of both, then maybe a vehicle section wont be so bad.

i'd be good with it if it was used simply to land and infiltrate like on virmire, but it was a little tedious to explore every planet with it.....if there were beacons and buoys that you could warp to (ala KOTOR) i'd be good with it....

I want just Hammerhead with, same way of moving but two different ways of shoting (rockets and riffle or sth.), ability to aim, better armour, better HUD (health bar!), ability to jump out of it whethever I want and no stupid resource collecting. Than it will be ok.

Several things.

Yes, the mako controls were horrible. Beyond horrible. I hated that f**king thing so much. If they made the controls better then yes, it would be a neat addition to the game. The mako would climb up a mountain at a 90 degree angle going 2mph. And the boosters would just jet you away from the area you're trying to get to. I died several times because the damn mako glitched and fell through the bridge on Feros.

Second, change the scenery. I hated almost all the planets in ME1. They were horrible to look at. Same windy deserted barren planet. The "colonies" were spaced apart and consisted of a cookie cutter building that was on all of the other planets.

I guess I just have a HORRIBLE time and had so many issues with the exploration in ME1. If they changed it up -- maybe combine the hammerhead (which I loved, except for the fact that it could die in 2 hits) with the mako, they could have an awesome product. Also, make the planets different from each other. It could be a ton of fun! It really could, but they need to make some drastic changes to a couple of things.

I hear so many people complaining about the Mako bugs and glitches.

I even have seen youtube videos about those and for the love of ... I have never been able to reproduce these bugs and glitches. I play on PC and my Mako is perfectly fine. The controls can be a bit twitchy at times but I never had it jump around uncontrolably or turn over while climbing mountains etc.

Maybe it's just because I am not a extreme Mako mountain climber who tries the 90 degrees or something.

I definitely liked the Mako more than the Hammerhead. The Mako, though flawed, was reliable in combat. The Hammerhead felt like it was made of tissue paper, and was obviously rushed through without some thought. All the Mako needed was some better driving controls, a realistic mass (so it doesn't feel like a beach ball with wheels), and maybe some more accurate weapons. The cannon was good, but the machine gun only had a range of about 5 feet. The Mako felt like a real vehicle, whereas the Hammerhead was just a toy. The homing rockets were silly as were the turbo fans.

Bring it back, hammerhead is only good on the dlc in overloard, but i prefer the mako, but with overloards environment, better yet, mix it up with ME1 And ME2 missions.

It pains me to say this, but considering the focus we already seen on the Atlas and the Convoy battle I suspect our exploration craft has been removed for ME3 with these new features there to replace it.

I dont think it will be the last we will see of the Hamerhead or Mako but it most likely will appear as DLC im thinking a few months later. Much like Firewalker.    Theres still issues with both craft.  The Hammerhead never got right its point in a general direction and keep your finger on the trigger combat.  Where as the Mako just never struck a chord with alot of people.

Will there be a third option? Hard to say.  I just hope exploration does return!

It would be nice if the Mako would appear at all even as a DLC.

But even as a DLC I would like to have the option to take it planetside if I want to while exploring or doing even missions.

If necessary, I can tolerate the return of the Mako...I don't think I'd be able to handle Bioware returning us to those empty planets.

I don't think anyone would want those empty planets back but some nice Mako missions like Feros and Ilos in ME1 would be cool or Aite from Overlord in ME2 DLC with a Mako instead of the Hammerhead. Totally different mission of course and not a remaster of Overlord. I just mentioned it because of the nice map.

In that case, I'd support it. The controls were a bit awkward, but the vehicle sequences did manage to break up the combat sequences nicely.

The Mako or a similar vehicle should definitely return for ME3, especially for exploration. All it needs to be is heavier or equiped with better dampening, then it's perfect.

I loved the Mako, and I severely dislike the Hammerhead. The problem comes down to playstyle. With the Mako I could sit back, pick people off, move around somewhat. That was really nice, it felt like I was driving a Space Tank. The HAmmerhead feels like it's on speed or something. It has no health and is permanantly twitching around. That being said, once you'd got used to it, that manouverability was really useful.

Ideally I'd like to have the Hammerhead's base, with the Mako turret. Give me a zoom, Cannon, and Machine gun, on the Hammerhead's jump and boost ability (plus strafing) and you're onto a really fun vehicle to use, so long as we get Mako level shields too. Hammerhead was Waaaaay too weak.

I much prefer the Hammerhead because of how much easier it is to control, but I totally agree with others who say that it needs a boost in health and armor (plus a HUD, instead of that annoying alarm).

I am not that interested into seeing the Mako itself being back, but it shouldn't have gone in the first place.

Maybe something similar for the Mako, but if they are going to have another vehicle for combat-based sidequests, at least make the new "Mako", better for exploration and worse in combat.

I'd call that a flaw of gameplay design. You are not supposed to hide behind a hill and not deal any damage.

Combat with the Mako wasn't challenging at all, imo.

I support this! Even if not for every single planet we can land at, in the game. But for those we can, I wish they are well designed like some in ME1. But pls put a lot more sick bags for the Mako crew...please? They can't handle my stunt driving so well and keep throwing up and making a mess inside the vehicle! I wish I had made some movies of my driving... "I'm an excellent driver!". :o

P.S.: Indeed, killing inside the Mako wasn't much of a challenge thus all my kills were on foot! I really don't understand why all the fuss in Tchutchanka about killing a tresher maw on foot...  My Shep has killed so many already!

I don't want the Mako itself back, and I don't think many people do. What they want back is the ability to explore planets a bit more than you could in ME2 and I do want that back in ME3, although only if it justifiable given the story.

In my opinion the only thing wrong with the Mako was it's lack of forward speed boost. ( Which funnily enough they gave to the Hammerhead. )

Other than that, it was probably the UCWs that let it down as the terrain was a little too barren and samey. Bring down the Skies was a classic example of how the UCWs should have been.
