It should be, don't they have about equal power? I heard the PS3 has the potential for a little more, but, I'm not sure fan boys are very passionate.

Nope, Mass Effect's development console is Xbox 360. PC and PS3 are port. I expect it to look a little bit better on 360 than PC and ps3.

I don't see how that's likely considering the PC can render in higher resolutions than the Xbox (and I say that as somebody who primarily plays ME on the xbox).

The PS3 version won't require multiple disks and will probably use an initial hard drive install to speed up loading. Other than that I imagine both versions will be very similar in terms of graphics.

More or less the same, I would imagine. The PS3 is capable of doing much more than the 360, but the 360 has always been their core system on the ME series, along with the fact that it's easier to develop with.

That said, it seems the 360 is capable of handling real time lighting better, and the PS3 can handle better textures. It's the hardware differences along with how it's all built. And PCs can handle everything fairly well. So there will likely be some slight differences, but nothing intentional.

Xbox might have a plus side due to it being the original console for Mass Effect or something along those lines, but I'll still get it for PS3 because it feels more comfortable to me... and that I got Mass Effect 2 on it so I would get all the DLC with the disc :D

While BioWare didn't bother bringing high-res textures to the PC version, they did improve the shadows and PC users get to play on high resolutions at better framerates.

If I'm not mistaken the PS3 version of ME2 looked a bit different (they moved some light sources) but not necessarilly better. Now that they're making both versions at the same time I assume the difference will be hardly noticable.

Kinect addition is the only difference and that could have been included on all of the via headset just as easily. Kinect feature is there solely to sell more Kinects when just about everyone already has headsets to use.

I imagine there are some choices from ME1 that will not carry over into the PS3 version as the ME1 comic for the PS3 version of ME2 was not comprehensive.

I certainly hope not! I hope it's Xbox owners time to get "exclusive" and paid-for DLC for free, including "pre-order bonuses." And yes, that blatant slap still stings

The 360 and PC will see the small decisions, ones not in the comic play out in ME3. Only difference to actually care about. If you really care about the way the graphics will be than you problay dont play older games because they dont look as good anymore.

Also I do think its time for Bioware to release the Game of the Year Edition of Mass Effect 2, unless they plan to do a Triple pack with all 3 Mass Effect games in it.

I played ME2 on all three system, The PC suffered some higher blurry texture than xbox and the ps3 seemed more or less the same. Considering all the multiplatform I played and looked at, you can always see which console it was made for. Every game made for xbox is always a little bit higher res than ps3 or pc (just look at CoD: Black Ops) even if sometime it's not that important (less than 1/1000) but if you are looking for difference you can see it. It's not about the power the console can produce, it's about the coding translation which make it easier to go from xbox to pc and ps3 than ps3 to xbox and pc. They don't use the same programming. (too complex and overly boring to explain it.) Just wait until the release and you'll see.

^Pretty much this.

Seeing as your asking which one is better, im guessing you have a choice between the two? If so, go for Xbox, definitely, because it would work better and because of Mass Effect 1 saves.

With the PC version, if you have a decent rig you'll spend a FRACTION of the time loading compared to the 360. That means no looking at dull mass relay or Normandy schematics for the umpteenth time. Well, you'll look at those schematics but only for say, a few seconds.

someone on twitter asked one of the devs, Joe i think said that they are not sure yet, as no preliminary storage compression has been tested yet.

PS3 has more power than the 360.
