Seeing as your asking which one is better, im guessing you have a choice between the two? If so, go for Xbox, definitely, because it would work better and because of Mass Effect 1 saves.

I am inclined to agree with the part in bold. But if you don't mind my asking, how would it work better?

Why wouldn't they be? Another platform to develop for is more money spent; it's cheaper to make it once and just port it.

I play all three versions of ME2, PC is superior, PS3 is second, xbox is third, but Bioware had a whole year to tweak the PS3 version.
Now dont get your panties in a bunch, i prefer the Xbox version for the simple fact that i started with ME1 on it, have most my playthrus on there. So i pre-ordered my N7 for 360.

IMO, PC will be better. Even if you don't have the ME1, or hell even if you don't have the ME2 saves, you can just go over to masseffectsaves.com. The work is already cut out for you. No need to grind through both games several times just so you can make the minor or major decisions. In addition, the PC version should look slightly better. One thing for sure is that it'll definitely load faster. Let's not forget the chance that our fellow Bioware Social Network members may make some great mods. (key word MAY) Also, there's price. generally, new pc games are $49.99 for standard editions. Relatively minor points for some, relatlively major points for others. Your views may differ. This comes from someone who started ME1 on 360 & pre-ordered the ME2 CE from Amazon with release date shipping for 360. Who later played ME & M2 on PC. Why you ask? PC upgrades.

Key points:

Load times are faster on PC

Ever so slightly better graphics (You won't really notice it much, focus on playing the game, not trying to find minor differences)

Moddability

Even if you don't have saves, you could easily get paragon/renegade/paragade/renagon saves with complete playthroughs from masseffectsaves.com. It  can saves you alot of trouble, most appealing to those who don't want to grind out multiple playthroughs/ those who are will experience ME for the first time with ME3.

(Opinion) Better control scheme : Mouse & Keyboard.

I was going to get it for my Xbox 360, but I decided that Im getting the PS3 version of Mass Effect 3, because it will be on 1 disc as compared to 2 or 3 on the Xbox 360 and I really hate having to swap disc in the middle of a game.

Also having the ME1 backstory comic for the PS3 is great because I don't have to go back and play ME1. Don't get me wrong I love ME1, its just that I have played it so many times, that it has become tedious to go back and replay it.

Depends who you buy it from. For example, FEAR 3, just recently released, had a $20 credit + free comic book if you bought it from Amazon. I mentioned price because I figure that several months in the future, deals for ME3 such as this will appear.

I can understand how BW chose to make a port for the PS3 for ME2 and making ME3 for all consoles (except the Wii, maybe Wii U). At this point in time, game devs are choosing to spread out to all sorts of systems instead of exclusives. But ME3 is supposed to use the same game engine for all systems this time around, with ME2 for PS3 supposedly using the engine that will be used in ME3. So system wise, it doesn't really matter unless you prefer one system over another, prefer playing with a certain controller/keyboard over any of the others, and which system you started on and want to finish on.

Honestly, PC will always dominate with performance if you have all the hardware that tops the consoles, but I prefer using a controller, preferably the 360 controller, over anything else when it comes to gaming. Feels right and I started on Xbox. PS3 is probably missing out since they don't have ME1, which may make a difference story and game wise. Your call, tough. If you don't mind missing out on some missions and decisions from ME1, you can go with any platform. But PC and 360 still seem to have the most available stuff, so more power to us.

PS3 runs at a higher FPS than 360, but the 360 still has the the advantage in most cases, its blu-ray that allows for more space and improvements on disc than the standard dvd format.

What do you care bout FPS? This aint CoD.

If you want the BEST graphics and performance AS WELL as after-market support go PC, and I play 360.

I'm curious as to why people are bringing the PC into this, since the OP asked about differences between the two console versions.

To answer the OP, yes, they probably will be equal.  Though I would probably give the edge to the 360, because of ME1 imported decisions, and (if you have it) Kinect support.  Are they making it compatible with the Move as well?  I haven't heard anything about that.

Only Kinect for voice commands, no move implementation mentioned as of yet, 8 months to go still. Honestly, they're both gimmicks though. Bioware should focus its attention elsehwere.

Nobody, I was just curious as to why people were giving irrelevant, unasked for information.  My intention was more like this:  than this: <_<.  No need to get so defensive.

I'm getting all of them, just like I did for ME2 and ME1. The consoles will look the same, PC will look quite a bit better, at this point in the consoles life cycles I imagine that the difference will be barely noticeable if any at all.

haha. however, it was pretty anti-climatic to have to switch to disc 1 right before the suicide mission.  Epic immersion fail <_<

My apologies, seemed more ****ish to me than you meant it.

On topic I'm sure PS3 will be better than 360 on some fronts including only one disc instead of two, and it will run smoother in some areas, and look better.

But, the one big win for the PS3 is of course, free DLC.

S'all right.

That's debatable really.  *shrug*

This one is likely only because ME2 came out so late that they could package all the DLC with it (except Arrival).  Since they're being developed simultaneously now, I don't think PS3 will get free DLC that the other platforms don't.

I played ME2 on all three system, The PC suffered some higher blurry texture than xbox and the ps3 seemed more or less the same. Considering all the multiplatform I played and looked at, you can always see which console it was made for. Every game made for xbox is always a little bit higher res than ps3 or pc (just look at CoD: Black Ops) even if sometime it's not that important (less than 1/1000) but if you are looking for difference you can see it. It's not about the power the console can produce, it's about the coding translation which make it easier to go from xbox to pc and ps3 than ps3 to xbox and pc. They don't use the same programming. (too complex and overly boring to explain it.) Just wait until the release and you'll see.

If the difference is similar to ME2 on 360/PS3/PC it will be negligible.

ME2 on PC was a bit crisper with my PC/TV setup (Full 1080p and the like) and it also loaded a heck of a lot faster (instead of 5 to 15 second load times on consoles, it was like half that on the PC).

Between 360 and PS3 the difference was negligible, some of the textures were a bit better on PS3, but some of the lighting was better on 360 at times. All in all nearly identical. The no disk swapping was a nice little negligible bonus though on PS3.

Either way, get it for whatever system you feel you'll play it the most on.
