Okay so last night I decided to get myself a treat by FINALLY getting myself DA:O and since Origin was an Official EA Store it seemed and offering a great deal I got the Ulitmate Edition.

This morning I register my Game on the Bioware Site and go in to Play my new game, Log in in DA:O as I should and would do with my Mass Effect 2. Yet after Restarting my PC and checking everything I can see and think of from the forums here and everything else no matter what I seem to do when I go to play DA:O threw Origin I am seeing that all the DLC content I am suppose to have access to is marked Unauthorized and nothing has changed it.

What am I not doing right? Why am I unauthorized??

Why even if the Code Redeemed from my email for the DLC content when I Open up DA:O again and log in do I still see my content unauthorized?

If you look on the forum a bit more you'll find out that it's a known bug and that it doesn't have a solution, as far as I know, yet. However, they are working on a solution and planing to introduce it in patch 1.05 which is on the beta stadium at the moment.

Okay I searched threw the first 3 or 5 pages of the forum before I posted and didnt notice any one else speaking about Origin giving them problems, may of just over looked it then.

So this isnt anything that I can fix by say downloading the Content from my registered content Menu?

Origin used to be the EA download manager (EADM). If you check the solutions roundup thread pinned to the top there are a number of things to try to get your DLC to authorize correctly.

Wait so then your saying this isnt an issue I need to wait for 1.05 for a solution??

And if so What then would you suggest to try in simplest terms...cause I have read ever thing about how to get DLCs to Authorize and nothing I read sound right like a fix for having all the DLC Authorize correctly, As I am not sure I am willing to try and try and mess with any the kinds of code stuff some it mentions as I hate to risk screwing everything else up, and wouldnt even know how to check to see if that would be what I had to do.

I am just looking for the simplest and cleanest solution.

No, patch 1.05 will fix it so that these issues do not occur in the first place. There is a list of things that can cause your DLC to not authorize correctly and since they all authorize/reauthorize together, all of the authorization information is applicable. Again, you will need to try the solutions listed. If you have specific questions about instructions, someone may be able to help you. A large number of things can cause issues with authorization from non-standard characters in your password or not using the correct login to a service not starting correctly. As you have not done the basic troubleshooting or provided the necessary system information, no one can tell you anything more than that at this point.

Okay here:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 @2.50 GHz
4 GB ram
ATI Radeon HD 3450 256MBs
Vista Home Premium 64-bit

DAOrigins.exe v1.04
DAOriginsConfig.exe v1.03
Provider: Origin Beta
Ultimate Edition Dragon Age: Origins

I am unable to Authorize my DLC content.
I have tried Everything from Uninstalling/ReDownloading after a Defragmention of the drive, checking all the Licences and Code Information, Attempted a Run Command and a Comand Prompt attempt at a Solution, attempting to find the DAUpdater and Dragon Age: Origins-Content Updater. Both of which have failed me in a search as they where not listed at all in neither service or the command prompt, as well as trying to use the net stop Run command prompt in the Sticky and

http://help.origin.c...kw/Unauthorized

As it just closes out the moment it opens giving me no chance to search as it says.

that everything I know and have tried to solve the issue using the Stickies and the Link I listed.
If this gives any more ensight into the problem I am having to any one who can help please tell me as I am at my wits end and ready to just call it quits till the patch 1.05 they say will solve this issue comes out and hope that it comes soon.

No matter if the problem is solved or not, with that poor excuse of a graphics card, the results will be slow, herky-jerky and unenjoyable. You really need a proper gaming quality video card, such as a Radeon HD 5770. And no, it's not the card itself causing the failure. It could involve the graphics driver, but you've chosen to omit that particular data.

FYI, decent graphics cards for game playng have never been more of a bargain than they are now.  The HD 5770 is rated near the top of Medium Performance, close to where High End starts, and yet is available for not much more than $100.

It wasnt listed any where I looked for it... IDK why it wasn't listed on the DA:O Configure Panel, or my Mass Effect 2 Panel.

and yes I know my Video Card is crude still >__< it is on my todo list of things to get for my PC.

I've recycled an article about gaming PC hardware that includes all of the Windows functions, including the graphics "Properties" information, which includes the driver {right-click anywhere on the background (wallpaper) of the Windows desktop and then left-click on the very bottom item that pops up}.

It may be mentioned here, as well ~~

There are step by step instructions to finding and starting the daupdater service linked in the solutions roundup thread I suggested you check in response to your PM as well as step by step instructions on the EA official troubleshooting guide, also linked in the solutions roundup and also sent to you in response to your PM. If something about the instructions is unclear, then ask about that specifically.

Whether or not the game will be playable with your graphics card is another matter, but no one here can do more than point you to the instructions.

I followed those Instuctions step by step by step... -sighs- Every Single word and what got was my my list of services and the fact that my DAupdater service is just NOT ON MY PC FOR SOME REASON.

I did ever single step for each as the Solution Round up is the EXACT same info Given in the Origin Help page as it is in the the EA Offical Trouble Shooting Page...

If You like I can post a dang Screen shoot but I am not a fool, not a idiot. I know how to read and I know how to Follow the Instuction when they are clean and not clustered together. I follow those Instuctions and they showed me that the Dragon Age Origin-Content Updater is not in my PC services list and my Command prompt could not find the DAUpdater.

Again if for some reason you can not believe me I will Provide a Screenshot, but those Instuction I followed and they produced the result of me finding that those Services are NOT on my PC. and As of yet I did not read anything on how to Install those Services alone.

There two screen shots to Hopefully show I am being up front and honest and actually am reading and following the instructions.

I can also show screens shots of the fact that the last bit of that of the answers doesnt help neither as I can not find the file " C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Application Data\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\ " nor the XML files it says should be in my Dragon Age Settings Folder. Since it seems Doubt and disbelief are all I am running into...

Be nice to have some one help that trust I am following instructions as best I can... or at least a Mod who can explain why I cant find any off the Updater on my PC at all

If you are sensing frustration, it is because this solution is also linked in the solutions round up, which you would have seen if you had looked a bit further down. The second linked thread is labeled as a solution for Windows 7 64-bit, but the instructions should work fine in Vista and the second to last post has the exact wording to type in for the Origins install version instead of the Steam version.

and why are you not accepting at all that I have indeed read those Instructions and that they HAVE NOT helped the situation? that what is given in the solution round up is similar to the EA Help you linked and the Origin Help page I linked and all that has failed???

Have I not providived as much as I can to back up this fact?

That I have Indeed gone threw all the Solutions on the round up page?? and if you feel I have indeed miss something that you feel Applies why not just post what you think I havent tried then?  A

Because there are also instructions to INSTALL the daupdater service that you seem to be overlooking. If for some reason it did not download to your system at all, I would recommend contacting EA technical support.

If that are the Installation help your speaking of, I have read it and was unsure if I want to risk trying it with the fact that my attempt to find files so far where other help FAQs have told me has hot helped and was unsure if even the program file it is suggest came with the Origin version.

and I probably will try and get ahold of some one from EA/Origin to help or maybe even just take it to a PC store and see if they can deal with it as the longer I have spent myself trying the farther away from a solution I seem to be.

Also let me ask again if downloading 1.1 from my content List would be of any help or repatching 1.04? Cause I am at my wits end and I seem to be frustrating those helping here which was not my goal so let me ask that last question before I move on to some one else for help.

And BTW so far outside of the Unauthorized Issue the game seems to play fine and hasnt crashed on me yet in trying it with my current Vidoe card since I am well with in the Min specs. May not run at its tops but it works for now till I solve this DLC Unauthorized issue and update my vidoe card.

The game is already fully patched to 1.04. Reapplying the patch can cause serious issues If you are referring to Witch Hunt version 1.1, I'm not certain which version ships with the UE, but it will say on the right hand window if you click on Witch Hunt in the Installed DLC tab.

And yes, those are the I instructions I am referring to. The second to last post has the changes to make for an Origins install. Worst case is it fails out which would indicate that Origins failed to download the files entirely. In that case, contact EA support and they will likely have you re-download. Your characters can be preserved so you will notlose progress.

As for the frustration you are sensing, you hadn't actually tried the solution or asked a question about it. Nor have you read the "read first" post and provided that information. We can't help you if you don't provide necessary information and/or try or ask specific questions about the solutions you have been pointed to. I would have understood completely if you had asked if the instructions would work on a Vista system and if it could mess other things up.

DAO isn't a very demanding game, at all. Running it on a weaker video card than he is (NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS), with no issues (none video card related anyway, can't get the DLC authorized, but that's certainly not related to my video card)

EDIT:

installutil "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\\\Dragon Age™ Origins - Ultimate Edition\\bin_ship\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe"
net start DAUpdaterSvc

did the trick for me, all shows up as authorized now.

Okay I found Installutil Application and clicked it but it opened and closed out quickly after it did so...

Is that what it suppose to do and if it is where do I input what was posted above??

Cause InstallUtil itself does not give me a place to put anything and to fast to read what it says to even know if thet Installutil.exe program is doing anything right and so far trying to copy past what was posted and hand type it into a Command Prompt is still getting me that the InstallUtil is not a recognized Internal or external command.

-sighs- I am seriously trying everything I can to make this stinking DLC content to work right and it just seems that harder I work at making it right the worse my head achs from being freaking confused.

Is the daupdater service now running? If so, it worked. If not, I suggest contacting EA support at support.EA.com

When I clicked it in my bin_ship folder it refers me back to using the InstallUtil.exe and the net Start up thing... so I guess it isnt working right which make no FREAKING sense since Using InstallUtil.exe should do something Right?? More then just flashing a command prompt screen to fast for me to read it I would guess

I will try the EA Support but honestly...if my InstallUtil isn't working right how much more can they do??

are you using steam? i had the same problem, i and read this. took me a bit to figure it out. go to your account on ea for dragon age, and go to redeem promo code there on the site. paste in your DLC code, and it should auturize it. dunno if it will work for u but it did for me.
