I was planning on playing DA: O today, but I cannot. :( When I load up my quick save after the merchant/nurse scene, everything is completely black. I figured, no big deal, I'll just restart. So I did and it still happens. Everything turns black. I loaded up an autosave before entering Lothering for the first time and all textures were there, no problem. But when I enter Lothering and meet those bandits, everything is black and audio is missing.

As you can see by the screenshot. Please help!

Oops! Sorry about that.

Win 7 Home Premium, 64-bit

Version: Steam - DA: O - Ultimate Edition
Running patch 1.0.4

Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60GHz
RAM: 7.92 GB

Display adapter: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870

Sound adapter: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)

I only have one mod installed. The cooldown mod but I doubt that is affecting it because I removed it and started again and the blackness still continues.

*Update*

Before entering Lothering, I checked to see if anything else was wrong and when I click my party members to talk to them, no audio of their voices are heard. They are only moving their mouths. :/ I don't know what is going on...

Has anything changed on your system since you played last (updated graphics drivers, etc)? If not, I would suspect that A game file/files have become lost or corrupted. An uninstall and fresh re-install will likely fix the problem. The un-installer will give you the option to save your character files so they will be there after reinstall.

Nope. Nothing changed at all. I will do the re-install and will get back to you with more details.

Ok. A re-install fixed it. Thanks again. :)
