This just started to happen yesturday after installing bring down the sky. Some dialog sound skips (only when you can hear it over a come or radio). Also gun fire sounds strage and crakerly and muffeld every few shots. 

Im useing an Onboard Realtek HD Audio MS-7528 mother board if that gives any clues.

Did you select hardware audio in the sound options? Make sure that's off.

Yep it is off, still the gun shots sound like a wet fart.

OK after some searching I discover there a patch for it my problems listed in the fixes http://masseffect.bi...ates/index.html

It seems that this was just the genrall patch for the game not just the DLC darn it now the music dosent seem to work in game.

Ok I found the solution to this problem. Seems to effect my Audio divice for some reason. It's a problem with an ini file after one of the patches. Go to C:\\Documents and Settings\\{user}\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect\\Config and open BIOEngine.ini

Look for [ISACTAudio.ISACTAudioDevice]

Underneath that heading, change it so that the lines read "MaxChannels=64" and "TotalAvailableChannels=62" (without quotes for each line). That should fix your audio problems.

I just installed ME1 on a new computer. Windows 7 64-bit. Creative SB XiFi Gun sounds cut out and dialogue if unclear. MaxChannels has a value of 64.
