Then again, I think it's pretty accurate to say that BroShepard is pretty much confirmed by this point. Seriously, ME3 ending and Male Shepard in the movie...I think it's about time I jumped off the Mass Effect bandwagon in general.

If he can't speak English, put blue tape on his lips and give him some computer generated lips like the did in Blade Runner Final Cut. Then he could have Mark Meers voice too!

The Alliance got their ass kicked in space and kept getting bombed out, whenever they tried to do anything. Only a couple hundred people died and it ended with a treaty and the leading General getting dishonored.
That's a terrible war movie.

Basically, I'm cool with whatever the movie does, as long as it isn't MaleShep. That would just be such a huge disappointment.

And sorry for those who think that their 1st choice would be a FemShep, sorry but not likely. Not that it wouldn't be cool and something new, but unfortunately the mass market of America doesn't really favour that route. Also I don't think there is a female actress in Hollywood who could do it justice.

"Will it just be an adaptation of the first game, second game, or a completely new story?
It will focus on Commander Shepard's journey, centering around the story of the original Mass Effect game.
How are you going to address the element of 'choice' that the players have in the game?
The writer is weaving a path through Shepard's decisions that best supports the narrative of the movie and the motivations of its characters.
Will it be a trilogy?
We are really focused on making this a great movie, so we'll see where it takes us. We have to get the first one right to know whether there will be more.
Will Seth Green portray Joker, the character he voiced in the game?
No casting decisions have been made yet.
Will the movie be focused on Shepard?
Yes.
If the movie is focused on Shepard, will it be the male Shepard or the female Shepard?
Male.
Can you give any hints to potential casting?
No. Stay tuned.
Will BioWare allow plot / character changes?
Yes, we are working closely with BioWare on the development of this project.
Would you consider Daft Punk to do the soundtrack?
We love Daft Punk, but it's too early to say who will produce the soundtrack."
As it stands now, I will not be seeing this movie. For me, Shepard is a woman, and I have no interest in seeing a rehash of the events of the first Mass Effect game anyway.

Would have to be something other than the first contact war. That would be too predictable and boring.

This. It's also annoying that people continue to press for a female Shepard when it's been documented numerous of times that most people prefer and play as a male. Given that fact, it would be be a lot more plausible that they put a Shepard on screen that the majority of their audience will relate/connect to. If that ruins the movie for you? Boo hoo. Get over it.

I think this point above is a popular misconception; i don't think the makers of the Mass Effect movie will be making or indeed purely aiming the film at the players of the game; The movie will have to encompass a mass market appeal in order to be as successful as possible. Putting that in a casting context, two of the biggest releases of the year have or will have a female lead (Hunger Games, Prometheus). So i think it is entirely feasible that ME with a female Shepard could occur - as long as it services the story.

Same could be said either way really depending on the final casting decision, I couldnt give a toss if Shepard is male or female in the movie. I played Shep as female in all 3 juust because it reminded me of RipleyKillaInstinct81 wrote...

Anyways my main thought is, I wonder how plausible it would be to have Martin Sheen reprise his role as TIM? just loved that role.
oh and Keith David as Anderson....

uhh lmao you're both sexist sry2say. Why can't a woman can take a krogan down? Indentifying yourself as a woman also grants krogan immunity? Is that it? Please explain it to me, I'd enjoy hearing this one.
Aaaand. The majority of Mass Effect players mean nothing . We get it, straight, white males. You whine if everything is not catered to you. boohoo boohoo :-(

If they use a Femshep its just going to have "Ripley" written all over it. And all she will be compared to is Ellen Ripley, over and over and over again. Not interested in seeing that at all.I have Alien for that character.
Oh. Right. Gender defines EVERYTHING about a character! LOL! So silly of me, how did I forget? Well, in that case, if they use MaleShep there's going to be quite a lot written all over it! Like pretty much every protagonist from every action movie ever!

why the hell would it be femshep? they put that char in there so you could see how it would change certain interactions in the game and to shut up the feminists, shes not the main char. Did you notice that the car on the cover of all the games is male shep?

When someone says "A strong female character out to rid the galaxy of an evil race of aliens that want to destroy everyone" people go "Ripley". So yes, gender and context will define her as a Ripley Clone. It would be inevitable, actresses will use her as a reference and writers will too.Heartlines wrote...

It sucks but any strong female lead character in this context will get "Ripley Clone" slapped onto her.
