I'm a dude so I want broshep for the movie or if they can cast the most beautiful and sexiest actress to play femshep then I don't mind at all, as long as I can see a vicious raging plunging neckline.

The Mass Effect movie is actually going forward? Now that's COOL!

Sci-Fi is in a new spring, and I love it! I hope we'll know if the movie has a planned release date, yet... right now we have a lot of hopefully great Sci-Fi movies incoming!

2013: Pacific Rim, Elysium
2014: Guardians of the Galaxy... and Mass Effect? Make it so Legendary!

Male shep, kill Rachni queen, save wrex, romance Tali. (or no one to follow continuity with the time you can romance her.)

After so many whiny complaints regarding the ME3 storyline, I wonder if they would even bother attempting to develop a movie plot that would "make everyone happy?" I would be content with a movie make of the first three novels, and a full re-write of the fourth considering from what I've read, it has many flaws. I guess we'll see what the future holds...hopefully not a reaper invasion.

I can ser the movie being made for people who have not played ME. That way they can say, "You like that? Check out are games, they are great too."

That's... inspired, actually.
Though difficult for me to imagine, since Purefoy's best roles have all come as a villain.

I'd really like to see the first contact war as Humanity had been expecting alien contact for awhile and then all of a sudden theyre in a war with them! Also, you'll see the rise of the alliance and Humanitys introduction into the galactic community

I think that by doing it about Shepard then they are dooming it to the same fate as every other video game film adaptation. They can't capture the character that Mark Meer (or Jennifer Hale) presents or other characters such as Liara or Garrus. I honestly do think that the whole thing will fail if it is about ME1. What class will Shepard be, background etc. First Contact War is a much more viable option as you could have a squad of 6 with each class, it would add a new perspective to the lore of ME and it will be interesting for the fans of ME and the newcomers to the series.

It needs to be the Shepard trilogy! That's what people wanta see and to say anything else would be a lie! YOu know this and I know this! :)

Yeah, you're right, we all do.  But just imagine what would happen if they did that, and they didn't do it "right".

Shame it's a male Shepard - thanks to Jen Hale I've always found FemShep to be far better than ManShep.

Also in terms of casting - why would you ever pick anyone other than Seth and Yvonne for Joker and Miri respectively?

I agree 100% with everything you just said. I really hope they take it even further and gets adam baldwin, martin sheen etc etc on board aswell.

Am i the only one that think this movie has a very high probability of failing miserably?
First - There is way to much content to just put it in three movies.
Secondly - I dont imagine a studio putting the amount of money required to do justice to the franchise.
Third -  Every movie based on videogames are pure crap.
Final and most important: Mass Effect has THE ONE quality that separtes videogames from movies which is: decision makeing. Shepard decisions are really important for the development of the story and characters. Who does he romance? Who survives the suicide mission? Does he save the Council? Is he going to be full Paragon, full Renegade or a bit of both? This aspects are really important IMO, because in a way, everyone has its own Shepard. Each Shepard is unique and that is why i think this franchise is so popular, beacuse it allows you to connect and identify yourself with the characters in such a deep way. You live in the Mass Effect universe through Shepard, you interact with the characters and you fall in love with them. Thats the magic of it. Its impossible for a movie to capture all of this at all.

Unless they make a movie of the mass effect universe(but not Shepards story), or they do a movie appealing to the general audience and throwing the fans out of the picture (beacuse its IMPOSSIBLE to please us all) which to me, it would equal as a COMPLETE FAILURE.

I hope im wrong and they make an awesome movie, but im not keeping my hopes up, been dissapointed too many times.

See....The Lord of the Rings

It's possibly if those who are directing and producing the movie are truly passionate about the source material.

And a really big budget

Even if the movie will get made I'm afraid it will have a hard time getting an audience as the new Star Trek movie series is going strong and Star Wars is about to return in a few years and you know it's gonna be huge. Does ME have enough to successfully distuingish itself?l

Well. There is also alot of superhero movies at this point, and they all seem to be doing pretty good. Avengers, Spiderman, Batman all came out this summer and they all did well to say the least.

If the scheduling is right and the movies don't end up being in direct competetion with one another (being released the same day for instance) and people get hooked on these sci fi movies like they are with superhero movies, then perhaps people will start wanting more, and that could even result in boost in the box office.
