Agree. Especially with the rebooted Star Trek which already looks like ME games (lens flare and all). If ME Movie doesn't turn out to be a stellar movie in itself, it won't stand a chance against Episode 7 and rebooted Star TrekFdingo wrote...
Even if the movie will get made I'm afraid it will have a hard time getting an audience as the new Star Trek movie series is going strong and Star Wars is about to return in a few years and you know it's gonna be huge. Does ME have enough to successfully distuingish itself?l

They just need to release it at a different time. Personally I think they can pull it off if they go for a FemShep in the 'Ripley' mould.
There's plenty of male heroes, so they should try something different.

Female main pratagonist could be just what this movie would need to differentiate itself from Star Wars and Star Trek. Doesn't necessarily has to be FemShep, could be a female Alliance from First Contact War. They would need a REALLY good actress though. Nobody doubts Sigourney in Ripley role, or Linda in Terminator, or Angelina in Salt. Casting would be crucialSlackRabbit wrote...

I hated the Star Trek reboot so I won't be bothering with the new movie myself... not that it helps much. I hate the idea of rebooting Star Trek. Why not tell a new story in a new time place? Go where no one has gone before anyone? I'm a fan of the original movies and TV shows and the reboot baiscally removes them from being part of canon. Sorry to rant off topic.

But it doesn't actually removes then from canon. Star Trek fans don't appreciate the fact that this was not a literal reboot enough IMO. The movie establishes parallel universe which can be totally accessed by characters from the original universe and vice versa. Heck, original Spock is one of the characters in the movie. The old universe is not scrapped, it's still as valid as it was and will be continued while the new universe will develop simultaneously. How many other games/comic/movies did that? 99% just reboots completly and throws away old canon to the bin. Star Trek "rebooted" for new audience without de-canonizing the old universe.Shermos wrote...

Will the story be the one from ME 1?
It would be nice though, if the first movie was about the scientists discovering the artefacts on MARS, and also biotics should be a main plot, as the Creazy rough Biotics are the main Villians.
It would be awsome if they show how they find the Mass relay, and the movie should and with a radio contact with the turians
The first contact war, should be in the second movie, staring Charlie Sheen as Jack Harper, fighting in the first contact war, and the movie should end like in the comics with Saren trying to save his brother.
The 3rd movie should be about Dave Anderson and his story with Saren.
Shepard should be introduced in the 4th movie showing him growing up on earth as a criminal up till he becomes the war hero of elysium.
5th...ME1 and so on.
Just my idea.

That would be way too many movies. After the first two/three they would get really cheesy. If they make multiple movies, I would like to see the first movie with Anderson and Saren and the ending would introduce Shepard. Second movie would be ME1 basically. Third would probably be ME3. And if it all goes well, add a prequel of the First Contact Wars.

I mean it is based in the game universe, unlike Resident Evil films, however it should be a back story on how it's discovered from Mars and what dangers the discoverers faced way before any events that happen centuries before Mass Effect 1.

Wikipedia has Erica Cerra(Eureka's own Deputy Lupo) as already cast for the role of Ashley Williams( source http://en.wikipedia....iki/Erica_Cerra) as such I really doubt we re gonna see 1st contact war or something NOT Shepard related.

Wikipedia isn't a reliable source but she would make a great Ashley.

I think the best aproach is to make a tv series i mean first make a movie about discovery of ruins on mars and then continues from there discover mass relays events on our planet and we have something good to watch it on syfy for 10seasons. Im just suprises that they dont see this oportunitie for a good tv show????? BIOWARE????
I think that's a good idea but a series would depend on the popularity 'or not' of a movie. A series like the Battlestar Galactica reboot would be superb.
As for a male or female Shepherd, I don't mind as long as the film is good, if they get the first film right, the franchise could be as big as Star Wars and draw in fans in their millions.
For the story, surely it's got to be about Shepherd and the discovery of Promeathean artifacts on Mars, from there the story could go in several directions, the important thing is getting it right.

However, if I was at the helm I would tell a story that is within the Mass Effect universe (away but still tied into shepard and the main story) that would make a good movie but would be too linear for another game.

It needs to be the Shepard trilogy! That's what people wanta see and to say anything else would be a lie! YOu know this and I know this!
No, no and no, we know the events of the game, we know what shep looks like(i guess diferent for a lot of people) we know who liara is, and ashley and james/garus..... it would be silly and pointless to hire colin farrels and other holywood AAA actors to make a simplified big screen version of Mass Effect, a spinoff is fine, something referenced but not seen, skylian blitz? Torfan? First contact war, would all be nice the "origins" spinoffs whouldnt have to even feature shep, tho i guess the blitz would
