If you have an argument in RL with your significant other, do you head to the bar immediately after and pick up the first person you see and take them home?
NO!! You work it out.
Shhse, fans are so childish. >.< I really hope BioWare doesn't change their characters in ME3 based on fan opinion.

They definitely don't need fan opinion to change how a character acts. The fact that Kaidan acts just like Ashley on Horizon or Liara's cold demeanor on Illium is proof enough to me.endermaryn wrote...

Kaidan was wearing Ashley's armor in the beginning of ME3? They really are just
cookie cutter models sometimes. I should've been more detailed.
I just hope they don't change Kaidan's character
too greatly where it counts. He's sweet, quiet, and he handles his own issues
without dumping a lot of baggage on Shepard.
A lot of people say he is soft and whiny among
other things. I don't think he is and I like him the way he is.
Although, some dialogue that isn't pure Ashley
(and vice-versa like on Virmire) and some new armor would be nice.

The VS isn't every Shepard's SO. Hell the VS isn't even every Shep's FRIEND.
In most of my Shep's eyes it's having a bad arguement with that coworker you barely talk to. As far as they're considered the VS can go to hell afterwards.

Liara: So how are you doing Shepard? And not what you say to keep your squads moral up, how are you feeling?
Shepard(I am fustrated): Honestly, I am tired! I am tired of dealing with Cerberus, tired of the council not believing in me, tired of my CLOSEST friends not trusting me.
Liara: Yes, I heard what Kaiden Alenko said on Horizon. But Their shortsightness dosen't diminish your accomplishment.
There wouldn't be a man, woman or child on Horizon left. If it weren't for you.
No none of the VS is my friend. Let alone closest. That title belongs to Garrus,Mordin,Wrex,Liara and Miranda.

I never really understood why people considered Kaidan whiny. He's one of the most level-headed characters in Mass Effect. He calmly gives his opinion on matters in every situation except Horizon. For me Horizon was the only out of character moment from Kaidan. He seems like the type to always see the bigger picture of a situation but because BioWare felt the need for Ashley and Kaidan to become the same person ever since Virmire and copy and paste dialog between the two he reacted like Ashley when he should have reacted like himself.endermaryn wrote...

I was never really a fan of either Kaidan or Ashley(besides....other reasons)
Besides, shepard never really bothered apologizing or explaining anything.

I could be wrong, but I imagine he/she's referring to people who romanced the VS. It totally makes sense that the VS is like wtf is wrong with you when they find out you're working with Cerberus. I mean that was my reaction when I was forced into it... I thought it was lame that all the ME1 LIs got shoved in a corner for the whole game, I just hope ME3 makes up for it with their "big" role.
Hopefully we all have our chance to deal with them the way we'd like in ME3. Whether that means telling them to f*ck off, or a paragon interrupt smooch.
P.S. Please don't kill them off, it was hard enough deciding between them on Virmire

My issue is he's throwing everyone's Shep (at least everyone complaining) in that "shouldn't complain because of SO" box. There's no "Sheps that romanced the VS." qualifer.
Though yes I heartily support a choice between smooch and f*ck off.

Reviving this thread for one simple reason. I heard a rumor in another thread that the VS testifies against you at the trial, and this was the thread to find that little tidbit in. IS there any proof to thsi rumor and can someone provide a link to it?
Huh? Where did you hear this rumor?
I haven't heard anything like this at all. There may have been conjecture that the VS might testify against Shep depending on how you handled Horizon, but from what I remember, that was all just wild conjecture without a shred of evidence.

That is what I said. So I am looking for proof either way. I heard it in the Miranda or Ashley thread in the ME3 general forum, page 1 about 3/4 of the way down.

I had come to the same conclusion myself when he said it. I thought, hmm, how did the VS get to the Normandy before I did. But that is simple to answer, the VS didn't stay at the trial and went back to the Normandy before the invasion.
However, I have done several BSN searches and google searches and have found nothing to substantiate that rumor, so it was probably Dariustwinblade just talking out his arse.

Anyhow, I don't believe they would use the VS to pinch Shepard. Neither Ash nor Kaidan was in Shepards crew while "Arrival", they have nearly no significance in the trial. There is no reason to use them. If they need to prove Shepard's connections to Cerberus, they don't need the VS and his/her testimony about what had happened on Horizon - there is enough other evidence.
Basically, I think once you get that mail from your VS-LI, everything is solved, the relationship can be continued in ME3 (maybe with a slight bump in it) and done.

Actually, Kaidan reacted worse than Ash. He was literally screaming at Shep while Ash was just telling what she felt in a distinctive tone.jreezy wrote...

For me Horizon was the only out of character moment from Kaidan. He seems like the type to always see the bigger picture of a situation but because BioWare felt the need for Ashley and Kaidan to become the same person ever since Virmire and copy and paste dialog between the two he reacted like Ashley when he should have reacted like himself.
And what is out of character is a matter of interpretation. To me, Kaidan's reaction fits perfectly within his character and what was established rather clearly (at least to me) in ME1. He's calm, level-headed and whatnot. But he's like that because he knows how he is when emotions come into picture -> Vyrnnus & Rahna incident. He deliberatly represses his feelings to avoid hurting anyone again, but it comes at the cost of emotions building inside him that will simply have to find a way out sooner or later. They did on Horizon. Kaidan cares for Shep alot, and when he cares for someone, he may lose it. That's why his reaction is worse than Ashley's. She always tells how it is, she doesn't hide nor repress anything. She lets her emotions out gradually & constantly in her life thus she doesn't snap, or scream.
While the Horizon dialogs where nearly identical to Ash & Kaidan, the few differences that were there are key. Unromanced Kaidan says "Thinking you were gone... It was like losing a limb!". Unromanced Ash says "I thought you were gone... I... You were more than our Commander." Kaidan takes the situation more personally than Ash, Kaidan speaks speaks only through his perspective and what he felt, while Ash speaks also in the team's perspective. Small difference? Then why did the writers bother to make it? And why did they make Kaidan have dialogues that focus solely on him while Ash has dialogues that also mention the team perspective? Not that Ash didn't take it personally, she did, but Kaidan focuses solely on himself and his attatchement to Shep.
Romanced Kaidan says "Thinking you were dead tore me apart. How could you put me through that?". Romanced Ash says "I thought you were dead. I almost... How could you put me through that?. Again small difference, but again it's Kaidan that uses more personal words and expresses more profoundly how devastating losing romanced FemShep was to him. If they didn't care for having Ash & Kaidan retain their unique personalities & approaches, why did they bother making these differences in key lines on Horizon?
tl;dr Kaidan harsher reaction comes from the fact more emotions has bulit inside him because of restrains himself. And if there's a highly emotional moment in ME3 that involves Shep, don't be surprised if Kaidan snaps worse than Ash again.
