Now we do see Legion in the ME3 demo, so we know that he will make an appearance if he survived ME2.

Now, the question is...if he "died" in ME2, how will he be replaced?  I, for one, think he will be replaced, by an identical "clone" - that is, he will be moved to another mobile platform, and when you meet his character, he will give a brief explanation and then proceed normally.

Thoughts?

Or you do the mission without him.

The other possibility is that you never activated him in the first place. I'm interested to see how that turns out. Now that Cerberus is the enemy, they will have upgraded tech.

Still, another platform could always be sent out to find Shepard.

They better not just be replaced, that will seriously cheapen the death of the character.

for legion this would actually make sense though. and it's part of the reason I always sent him in the maintenance shaft. the fact that a robot was affected by heat at the same rate as a human was BS though.

The LotSB dlc actually partially answers this. Check Legion's dossier after you give him to Cerberus and it will be of two scientists who are tasked with examining Legion. One of the scientists forgot to turn off a wireless device which causes the other to panic, and then the transmission cuts out. This suggests that Legion reactivates inside a Cerberus base and escapes. So I wonder what it'll be like to meet up with Legion who knows you gave him to Cerberus and the Heretics were able to spread their virus.

That might not be very pretty to be honest.:pinched:  I think I only have one playthrough that I gave Legion to Cerberus.  Right off the top of my head, I don't remember which file.  :crying:

Is it? E.g. operating computers at high temperature is difficult because heat loss to the environment is no longer sufficient to keep the unit temperature within acceptable limits. Humans perspiration, on the other hand, uses a lot of the heat to *evaporate* water (rather than *heat up* the environment) - you'll remember from physics class that it takes much longer to melt ice/evaporate water than it takes to bring water to 100C (4 kJ/kgK vs 2270 kJ/kg)

The other non-Kasumi option is Tali, and she's in a closed enviro-suit, and it affects her too. I just think it's really freakin' hot in that tube.

You know it would actually be pretty hilareous if Shep forgot to activate him and like half way through ME3 he goes through all the junk he stored in the cargo bay and finds him. xD
Legion: Shepard Commander. How long were we inoperable?
Shepard: About three to four months or so.
Legion: We believe that our goals are mutual, cooperation is suggested.
Shepard: You mean fighting the Reapers? Yeah sorry they kind of invaded while you were out. Also all the Geth got hit by a virus of some sort, they joined with the Reapers, major pain in the ass.
Legion: ...
Shepard: I think you have a smoke coming out from that hole of yours, are you overheating?
Legion: Shepard Commander, we wish to be alone for a while...

humans can survive temperatures uover 200 degrees Fahrenheit for short periods of time. I'm assuming that legion would be built  to withstand heat better than the average modern desktop. either way, the times should have been different either faster or slower.

Why not? If a robot can also be a fetishist

Yeah, but then you can make the same argument for a ton of stuff.

Tali should be able to survive longer than Kasumi, as she's in a full environment suit, for example.

Jack and Samara/Morinth should have handled generating the Biotic barrier differently.

Garrus should have done a different job commanding squad two to Miranda.

And so on.
