I'm running a GeForce 8500GT 512MB on a 32 bit Vista box. If I turn textures on high and graphic quality to medium, I get a paltry 10-12 FPS. (Don't know the resolution off the top of my head, but it's mid-range 4:3 ratio in full screen mode)
I'm trying to determine if my card is just junk, or I need to tweak some settings that I've missed. Turning the graphics settings to low helps to some degree (additional 5 FPS), but I'm still not getting anywhere near the 30-40 FPS I'd like to be seeing.
Please list your graphics cards and the settings you're playing on and what kind of frame rate you're seeing.
Thanks for your help.
Please list your video card and game performance

Geforce 8800 GT 512MB and I run the game on max textures resolution (It looks great on my 42 inch TV), max antialising, etc.. and I haven't lagged ever.
The biggest help for FPS is turning antialising(SP) off.
Have you updated your graphics card drivers? That can make a significant difference if not.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M.
Settings are as maxed out as humanly possible, resolution 1920x1200.
I do not know my FPS for sure as I do not normally have anything running that is checking it, but at least 30 FPS (Which is on average how far the human eye can follow, IIRC). Goes completely smooth at all times, basically.

Yes, anti-aliasing is turned off and latest drivers installed (They just released new drivers in the past month, the ones prior had equally poor performance). The game is playable and I love it, it's just a little jumpy in battles and I can't really crank everything up.
EDIT ****
I recently slapped another 2GB of RAM in the machine to make 4GB thinking maybe it was a memory issue. The CPU usage is still pretty heavy and the extra memory didn't help the FPS much.

1680x1050 run at max settings, not a single hiccup so far.

Have you ever cleaned the inside of you computer out? Compressed air style? Also, how much RAM, and how fast is your CPU?
The next thing would be to tone down the resolution a bit.

8800gt, 5200+ X2 processor, 1gb ram (from what I remember. Could be 2gb (posting from laptop, not pc))
Game runs fine on whatever it defaults to for this system. I don't prioritise graphics, but it still looks nice. Only ever performance issues are in Denerim and seems to get worse and worse once I visit there until I restart.

GTX 260 Core 216. 1920 x 1200 resolution. High settings on everything. No issues.
Your card is 'junk', unfortunately. When dealing with the old nvidia number system, as far as gaming goes, you want to aviod cards with a 1,2,3,4,5, or 7 as the second number. The 8500 is basically a business class card and not designed to handle gaming.
Haasth: there's a lot of argument about it, but if you delve into the issue, it appears that the 30 FPS rule with regards to the human eye only applies to film/tv (due to motion blur) and not gaming.

ATI 4890 on a Win 7 x64 OS (quad core CPU and 8 GB memory) @ 1650x1080 resolution, highest details and textures enabled. Never slows down, not even under the most demanding special effects in battle sequences.

For once, you might want to consider the CPU as well. This game benefits greatly from a quad-core chip!
Geforce GTX 295, Intel Core i7 260, 8GB DDR3@1333, RAID5 disks
I have my settings all set as high as they'll go, including AA, and I play on my 1080p TV. Works flawlessly. The RAID5 disks really makes loading a new area fast!

That is very much possible. I am not an expert on the issue. I basically just used it as a 'runs completely smooth as far as I can tell'.

I'm running a Nvidia GTX 285 (Zotac Amp OC'ed) edition with a core i7 920 overclocked to 3.4 GHz, 6GB of DDR3 1333MHz Ram on Windows 7.
I'm not sure exactly what frame rates I'm getting off hand but I have all video settings maxed out with resolution 1680x1050 and the game runs as smooth as can be even when there is a lot going on (lots of battling and magic going on)

I built my PC 2 years ago (Nov 2007) It was expensive and top of the line back then, but it runs Crysis and DA:O flawlessly at 1920x1200 resolution with all the highest settings including 8xAA.
CPU: Intel 3.0GHz Quad Core Extreme X9650
RAM: 8GB DDR3
GPU: nVidia GeForce 8800 Ultra (768MB)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (clean install)
Its never worth it to build a cheap PC

Running all Max settings at 1680x1050 on GeForce 220GT 1GB RAM, AMD Quad @ 2.6GHz, 4GB RAM. Don't know my fps, but I've never noticed even the slightest stutter and I've been in some busy battle areas.

Dual Core Phenom II 550 3.6 Ghz. Ati 4890. 4GB ram. Everything maxed 1080p. With vsync on fraps reads a steady 58 fps on 60hz tv for most areas. So I doubt the game benefits from more than 2 cores.

Running 2 ATI 4870's in CrossfireX with a Q9550 @ 3GHz (slightly overclocked it for fun) and 4GB of RAM. Game settings are all set as high as they go with Vsync with a 1920x1080 resolution and I run a constant 60 fps unless theres lots of smoke or something on screen and sends the frame rate into the 40's for a second or two.
