This is my first time using the SCS mod. Had an extreamly hard time fighting my way to the final boss in Hell even though my main character is lv22. Can I ask for some tips in fighting the final boss.
Set-up...Jon has summoned the Eye, dragon, wraith and the Sword of Greed.
1. Any general tips on fighting these guys? I only managed to defeat them by setting the game on the easiest setting....
2. re. point 1, even though I defeated the dragon, jon, the Eye and the Wraith.....I can't hurt the Sword of Greed. All my party has died except for my invisible character, its currently in pause mode. How do you defeat this sword??!!??
Thanx for any help.
Help!!

Jon gives you a clue when he says the Sword of Greed is "Mordenkain meets Blackrazor". Like a Mordy Sword, it can only be hurt by pure magic damage (Magic Missle, Skull Trap, Horrid Wilting, etc).
Just remember that the Sword of Greed regenerates quick so you have to lay on the damage fast. If you have high level mages, you may want to go with Horrid Wilting x3 Chain Contingencies. Skull Trap Sequencers should do the job as well- especially if you haven't installed the component that nerfs Skull Trap damage.
Beyond that, try not to let it hit you. IIRC, it's level increases each time it drains your level.
So you know, SCS took that battle from the classic Tactics Mod. If it seems incongruent with the rest of SCS that's why. I'm not terribly fond of it personally.
Anyhoo. Happy sword hunting!
Best,
A.

Alesia's advice is the best one there is. However, I don't waste much resources on the Sword. More often that not, a Chromatic Orb finishes it quickly because of the Slay property. Other than that, Skull Trap, ADHW, and Delayed Blast Fireball all can bring it down quickly.
As for general tips, well, I'd go for the Sword first with a Chromatic Orb as that gives the highest chance of an instant kill anywhere here. If that fails, I go for the Wraith because he's actually pretty easy to bring down if you can have a melee character reach 10APR, or just enough protections to withstand its attacks. The other three are basically a magic attack game. Since you're playing with a party, the best way is to have your mages ready with their slings and preferably powerful bullets (+3 and up) and with their aura always clear for much needed Breaches, Warding Whips, Remove Magic, etc.
Selfish Jon is hardly a chore. He just messes up the battlefield but he's actually the least of the problems here if you can buff against his spells. SI:Abjuration is a good bet here, as well as ProMagEnergy to resist all the damage he's going to inflict while you're running around dealing with the others.

This is such a rock/paper/scissors fight that it's probably the only BG fight I split my party up for.
Fear can be severely slowed by pre-casting 2-3 skelly warriors down the bottom right stairs.
Irenecus follows your PC, as does the dragon. PC and most of party runs right and down the top right stairs. Dragon follows, and blocks the stairs. Irenecus stands about like a twit. Party starts recruiting low level units at their leisure. Watch your summon cap, as Fear kills skellys replace them. Send units to be killed by irenecus and the dragon one by one, not in groups.
Because I love my thieves, Wrath is easy. A couple of time traps laid before, and my thief runs straight down the top left stairs, fires assasinate, 2-3 hits does it. My thief then runs to bottom right to help finish off Fear.
A high level mage heads to bottom left and blows Greed away using ADHW and/or a spell sequencer loaded with skull traps. They can then load a new sequencer with 3 fireballs and blow Fear away. Finally they go and drop Pride & irenecus's spell resistance etc from just out of visible range, malison, glitterdust, etc.
When the other 3 are dead, kill Pride. Now it's just you and Irenecus. Use the bow of bloody slow lightning bolts, because he teleports about, and the bolts tell you where he teleported to.
