I have preferred political plots of late. The Landsmeet in DA:O was by far my favorite part of the game and felt like the true climax I had wanted. DA2 definetly fumbled the story a little bit by making it kinda Good vs. Evil. THough I must say that the Anders thing at the end actually saved that to some degree, but it was a little last minute. The plot does need to be handled better in that regard for it to work in DA3 but I have confidence that it can and will work.

Templars not noticing your a mage. MAJOR FAIL, considoring the central plot revolves around mages, yet templars don't notice your wearing robes and have a staff on your back. Totally breaks the immersion. And it was unexplained. DAO got away with this because you were a Grey Warden.
Yep. There is no excuse for that, really. This is ridiculous beyond any reason.
This is actual screenshot from the game - in the middle of the fight. One of the huge "WTH IS THIS" moments.
When something like this happens when I'm playing, I pretend that the templar behind the headgear is someone my character did a favor to (or someone close to a person that my character helped somehow), so he doesn't arrest her due to the debt of gratitude. However, that doesn't prevent him from arresting other apostates, afterall it's his job.
P.S.: I think Knight-Captain Cullen himself doesn't arrest a mage Hawke (or his/her friends) in great part due to the debt of gratitude for saving his life.

Obviously Bethany just wiped his memory with that mind blast, so he does not remember seeing any mages. :innocent:

The Mages vs templars is a really interesting angle. I'd love to see DA3 take place in the middle of a war-torn Thedas, with Morrigan and the Warden coming back with their God baby to save the world again.
