Maybe this will help someone else running into the same problem...
I tried to play Mass Effect 2 for the first time yesterday, and the first thing the game does is want you to log into the "Cerberus Network", which is the game's way of having you connected to the internet through your EA/Origin Account in the game, presumably for the purpose of uploading your gameplay stats, achievements, importing your character/saves from ME1, etc.
Well, the first few times, I couldn't log in. It kept telling me my "password wasn't correct". So, I went through the rigmarole of requesting a password reset (again), because I had just done this all recently because of the server hack several days back, etc, etc.
I had created a new 12-character password then, but ME2's password entry screen doesn't allow 12 characters. I created a new password with 10 characters, and it worked fine then. Yet another glitch in the ME franchise, eh? Something as silly as EA/Origin allowing me to change my account password to 12 characters, then the game (ME2) not allowing me to use but 10 characters, resulted in about 30 minutes of frustration of trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, when it was a silly, avoidable, problem on their end.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Why hasn't this been fixed as well?

Which is weird, because my new password is 16 characters long and I am not having an issue logging in.

Only alphanumerics will continue to be usable, even though there is no error- catching being done to avoid the odd characters.

I used "special characters" in both...

In other words, the problem is solved now, I suppose.

The "problem" still exists. My problem has been resolved, but it's still out there. Maybe someone who can't figure out what the problem is (when/if they encounter it) will stumble across this and get a solution and otherwise avoid giving up and missing out.
That's all.
That's all.
