On my current playthrough , I am playing as a female mage diplomatic hawke that will be siding with the mages, and having a rivalry romance with Fenris.

Most, if not all of my decisions will be focused on making Fenris gain rivalry when possible.

My question is whether it would be easier to focus on gaining rivalry with Isabella or focus on friendship in order to get it high enough before the end of Act 2?  I want to try to stay true to my character so I don't want to make sarcastic/flirty/aggressive actions if possible.

If anyone has any advice on this or any other specific tips I'd really appreciate it.  I do have the wiki available but I'm still a little confused on what would be the better route -- I'd like to finish the act 2 peacefully if possible.

This faq here has every possible friendship and rivalry point for Isabella in act 1 and act 2. Furthermore, it is possbile to have "exclusive" rivalries and friendships (e.g. Anders and Fenris both rivalled) by careful selection of party members for quests. For instance, in Wayward Son Fenris will gain friendship when interrogating slavers in Darktown but rivalry when sending Feynriel to the Dalish. If you only bring Fenris to the last part of the quest he will only gain rivalry points.

I really don't think you understand what I am asking.  I'm not looking for help developing Fenris' rivalry romance.  It looks surprisingly easy.

What I am asking is whether I should attempt to give Isabella a friendship or rivalry before the end of Act 2, so I can have her return the book rather than run away/betray the city.
