do you think the mattock should be nerfed whilst under adrenaline rush?

it's way op especialy when your a soldier using heightend adrenaleine rush.
dont get me wrong i love the mattock it's just that since i got the weapons pack i havent touched the avenger, vindicator, geth pulse rifle or even the revenant, the other weapons in the pack seemed to be a little bit more balanced and i tend to use all three heavy pistols and the only shotgun i never use is the katana. so what do you guys and gals think, should the assult rifles in me3 be a bit more balanced?

It seems OK to me. It is my preferred Assault Rifle, but only becuase the single shot suits my playstyle. With Adrenaline Rush on a soldier it starts getting a bit ridiculous, but I don't want that affecting every other piece of balance in the game.

They are completely overhauling combat. So I expect they will re-evaluate all weapons and give each weapon a pro/con type development as each now have unique stats. You can offset those with the mods if you wish.

You know what the funny thing is? It may have more power than the other rifles, but the total damage of every shot from the Mattock is 4334.4, compared to the Avenger's 5184.

If there's any rifle that should be nerfed, it's the Revenant, since it has a total damage of 12 929.1. Keep in mind that this damage is done if every singe shot hits and I haven't taken the multipliers against certain protections into account.

Widow + Infaltrator or Claymore + Vanguard>> Soldier + Mattock.

God was those two were broken.

For starters, Mattock and the rest of the Firepower pack were sold and marketed as weapons that did a lot of damage and helped with those who weren't as skilled in the game.

I doubt that it will have the same stats in ME3.

Mattock should not be nerfed for 2 reasons:

1. Low ammo capacity.
2. Makes up for poor AI in the hands of squadmates. 

Also the vanguard with the claymore was awful. One shot + reload on insanity = dead.

The Mattock already has the big disadvantage of the smallest clip size out of all the ARs. I see no reason to punish players for liking a gun.

I don't see why a gun that is optional has to be nerfed. If you think the gun is too strong don't use it.

The problem with the Mattock wasn't so much the damage itself, it's the insane semi-automatic RoF that you could achieve by rapidly tapping the trigger that made it so powerful.

i use it because semi auto rifles suit my soldier play style, i just like its a bit to overpowered

The revenant's accuracy makes up for this indeed. I can't wait to customize my revenant and make it more accurate though. :wizard:

Pretty much. If they slowed the rate of fire, even if only to two shots a second max rather than the three to five you can pull off now, it's DPS would fall far more reasonably.

The Revenant has a higher multiplier against armor than the Mattock. 1.4 compared to Mattock's 1.3. I don't think it'd tip the balance.

It's getting pretty tiresome after a while, though. Especially during Arrival.

Yeah, but the point is that, unless you're exceptionally close, you won't hit every shot with the Revenant. It's very much a short-medium range heavy weapon, while the Mattack has remarkably good precision at any range.

The Mattock is to Revenant what the Geth Pulse Shotgun is to claymore: almost as good at ideal range for the 'super weapon', but far, far better at the other end of the range spectrum.

I think you need to wait and see i'm sure they will be going over all the weapons anyhow and they will make adjustments if they deem it necessary. Let the "Professionals" do their jobs ;D

Also instead of this so called nerf you call for, why not just get more enemies in the frame or improve the other weapons? Don't forget that ME3 will be different from ME2 and most likely things will be harder to kill especially depending on difficulty level i can't see it being overpowered 2 games running :). And you also have to remember it was a DLC weapon they probably didn't truly get to test it enough and didn't possibly know how powerful it was going to become, Or they were just being awesome and giving us a nice present???!?! ;D

That's my 2Pence anyway :) Have fun ladies off to get coffee and play some more DA2 and ME1 later woot!

No. The Mattock is not overpowered and never really was. It's low ammo capacity offset its firepower.

What's overpowered is adrenaline rush. Not the Mattock.
