If you are calling for a nerf of anything in a single player game because of balance issues, you are stupid.

Edit: Also, the Mattock is not more usefull in every situation for ever class. People are complaining that it is more effective in a soldier's hands than other classes.

The deal with the Mattock is that you paid actual money for it. Your reward is a powerful weapon you can use almost right from the start instead of having to play through half the game to get it. If you don't like it, don't use it.

Phalanx is pretty good, but i dont like laser sight on it, maybe because im so used to crosshairs in shooting games.

This seems like the only aspect of the Mattock that needs to be tweaked. Having it function similar to the Viper or Predator in Adrenaline Rush is all the Mattock really needs, IMHO.

I can understand requesting a nerf if the gun gave you an advantage over another PLAYER, but to ask it from a single player game is kind of rediculous.
The reason a developer, such as Blizzard, nerf or buff something is because it gives a player a major advantage, or disadvantage, to the player in a multiplayer setting. If one thing works too well that it out shadows everything else, it becames unfair to the others playing, so it needs a nerf.
However, theres no one else playing against you in a SINGLEplayer setting. Whos going to complain it unfair, the Vorcha Work Unions?

ARGH. Way to push my buttons there. There is no "e" in "ridiculous".
Anyway, the point isn't balance against the computer, the point is fun. If one weapon is better than all the others, the game is encouraging you to use that weapon exclusively.
If all weapons are different but not better than the others - as in COD - the game encourages variety. Variety makes the game more fun and more replayable.

Also, if you have ever shot an AR-15, M4, or M16, the semi-automatic setting is preferable in most situations because it is more accurate, you can control your shots, and if you need to, you can fire the weapon "as fast as you can pull the trigger", which is pretty fast...especially with practice. To me, the Mattock is the best weapon in the game because it reminds me more of a high quality carbine with a big punch...I love it and I don't find anything about it to be unrealistic or overpowered, especially with a smaller ammo capacity. And it should not be "nerfed" just because a few people don't appreciate it, which will diminish MY enjoyment of the game....and many others I'm sure. The loudest voice often does not represent the majority. That's just my opinion though.
