Would you prefer a Mass Effect television series, than a movie?

PS, we can cry and moan how wrong a movie or series or whatever would be but you know, you just know you would watch it. I know i would.

Based on whether or not whoever does the stuff(Movie or show) listens and pays attention to that stuff they could either succeed or fail. I think that if Bioware had a big part in production of either of the two the chances of them being successful would be greatly increased.
And another note for people who don't want to see Mass Effect as a movie or as a TV series, tough stuff for you, if Bioware wants to sell rights for a movie or TV series to someone else then they probably will, if they do, don't throw a fit, just don't go see the movie or watch the TV series.
I on the other hand will see it regardless of if it fails, cause I love Mass Effect that much.

C'mon, who wouldn't want a Fireflyesque (can that even be considered a word?) take on the ME universe?

CHARACTER 2: Ah! But I am MORE tough and or talented. Ha ha.
CHARACTER 1: Ha ha. I like this banter.
CHARACTER 2: I like it too.
CHARACTER 1: That is good. Excuse me while I have a massive exposition of current politics and technology as a thought process in my head for the next few minutes.
CHARACTER 2: That is okay. I will have an overly long ponder on the wellbeing of the Mary Sue of this series.
CHARACTER 1: She is pretty. And she is smart. And she is sassy.
CHARACTER 2: Agreed that is so,
CHARACTER 1: I agree,

Even if the production values are slightly lower in a tv show, wouldn't you rather have 20 hrs of story, have the ability to create serialized, season long plots, and develop characters more deeply?
Also, keep in mind that ME is about 40 hrs of playthrough for each part. Thats 120 hrs -- the typical length of a show that lasts five seasons. If you want a movie, you are delusional.

When it comes to ME I think the movie route is the way to go.

Edit: I'd also suggest AMC after their success with The Walking Dead, but with budget concerns cropping up after what I felt was a bloated (SFX-wise) season finale, I don't think a ME show would be safe on there.

HBO's Mass Effect? Yes. (it could come on after GoT and make me die from angst )
Syfy Original Series: Mass Effect? Gods no.

I am insane and believe this movie has the most hope for breaking the mold of game movies.

If they do a TV series I think it would be even less likely to be a success (somehow I doubt it will be amazing either way; Mass Effect belongs in gaming where it truly shines).

You know why Rome never made it past 2 seasons? And a one season mini-series of Mass Effect probably won't go down very well.
But if it's animated it could be damn good, not unlike Spawn. Though with better animation, after all the times have moved on significantly.

It could work, but like I said, they'd have to change the material to fit the medium. I'd be cool with that, I just don't know about the rest of you folks.

I think a series would be better able to draw on the scope and size of the ME universe but only if it's done by a pay channel willing to throw an enormous budget at it.

Syfy would be a total failure. Mega Commander Shepard versus Giant Space Octopus or something equally terrible.

But anyways back to the topic, can't we all just agree that if Bioware helped with production of any movie or TV spinoff they would both have a MUCH higher chance to be great. And no matter how much we argue the same points will come up.
-Movie:Great budget, but lack of depth.
-TV Series:Not so great budget, but lots of depth.
So there now that all your points and flaws in TV series and Movies for ME are shown how bout we just play nice.
