Thane's face looks ... odd.
The side of his face looks sunken and red, like missing a large piece of flesh.
What's on the side of Thane's face?

All Drell have that, unless Thane and his son and Feron all had the same accident.

agreed, i was always curious about that spot on his face. not as curious as i am about their relationship to the hanar. thane describes how the hanar instilled talents/desires into him.
i dont see how the hanar could do anything but blaber on about the protheons all day..
"this one wishes to spead the knowledge of the inkindlers."

Some lizards have red tissue flaps (a dulap) that fan outwards from their neck area for mating displays. Perhaps that is something similar, or at least was when they were more primitive. Then again, maybe whoever designed them simply thought it just looked cool on them.

haha during the Femshep romance scene:
Shepard: Thane be alive with me tonight.
Thane:" frills pop out, bobs head up and down"
Shepard: Thane what the hell are you doing?
Thane: Excuse me Siha. I was trying to woo you.
Shepard. "facepalm"
