Ok guys I love Mass Effect but before some of you jump down my throat please just realize that this is my opinion and please feel free to comment but please keep it civil.

Mass Effect 1 Pro's

I the Dark Blue Lightning aboard the Normandy it reminded my of James Cameron's films of just enough light to see facial expressions but also the color to make it seem darker/colder environments.

The Story was alot more engaging however I will consider that in Mass Effect one the first time playing you had no clue what was going on and it was alot more engaging in my eyes.

In Mass Effect 1 there was merchant on board the Normandy to buy upgrades, and sell items, there was also Medi Gel on borad in the Doc's Lab if you were running low, also in ME1 there was alot more stores to but items from.

Con's of Mass Effect 1:

Unlimted Ammo, I understand the technology but it did limit the player to their favorite weapon for me it was the Assault Rifle.

The rover and TOO much driving, also WAY too many Threasher Maws, the bases did look the same as far as the general layout with boxes and Heavy Cargo in different locations.

Also NO indicators on the Galaxy Map, and it was easy to confuse what system you have already been to and where the mission is.

Mass Effect 2 Pro's:

Better Combat Physics, Heavy Weapons, and the NEED to upgrade.

Now when the Player uses ammo it adds a sense of reasism, your not relying on just one weapon to take care of business, and there was a need to switch up weapons depending on the situation.

I loved the next Gen graphics with the characters and facial features.

The custom room was awesome with the Fish Tank, Ships on the wall, and after certain sidemissions items were added to the room, along with the soundtrack.

I was awesome that now you had to earn the loyality of your squadmates and after they recieved new armor, and talents.

The research lab was an great idea along with the retraining of powers. After maxing out on a power there were two choices of the power.

I loved Kelly as my Secretary and that the Galaxy map had Indicators.

I loved the caressing of your GF in your cabin that was hot, I would have like to have seen more couples talks like with Miranda about plans, future, ect. BTW whoever thought of the cutout window aboard the Normandy in the Captains Cabin to look at the sky GENIUS.

Mass Effect 2 Con's:

Little Upgrades was far as talents was very limited and you couldnt multiclass, and sometimes there were talent points left over.

The burning of Fuel was a pain we have nuclear powered ships that give unlimted range and it did become a pain to keep buying more fuel and probes for planets. Which leads me to the Rotating of the planet for minerals it was repetitive and annoying.

I know I stated that I loved Kelly but I had to romance her to keep my fish alive that meant I had to wait to purchase fish romance her then buy my fish. Also it would of been cool to get more fish availible and maybe a reef or something.

No offense but Mirand's romance scene was way too short, and why in the Engine room??? Just me but I would have liked to have it in the Captains Cabin or Her office.

Anyway that's just me going on a Rant and I look forward to hearing Feedback.

ME1 was awesome.

ME2 was more awesome.

Many people forgot the many improvements ME2 made to the series, while exaggerating what ME1 did well (i.e. customization, leveling).

I hated the heavy weapons. The rarity of ammo meant that you carried around an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on your back without enough juice to take out one heavy mech. I despised the galaxy map indicators. You can't see the galaxy map for all of the indicators. I have other nitpicks, bit these two things were just silly.

Shouldn't a thread like this be more suitable for the Mass Effect General Discussion forum?

it made improvements, but at what cost? the RPG is watered down so heavy, that the sequal is just a shooter with dialogue  trees. the global CD for spells is garbage in my opinion, never have i seen anything like that before. the stats area is immensly down-played, with HALF the gainable levels, and less than 1/4 of the skills to spend.

the weapons are listed with some crappy description by TIM, rather than their damage or accuracy ratings. changing the mods on your weapon manually nonstop is tedious in my opinion :P. the game made so many great changes, i just wish they didnt leave behind what made the first one great.

I preferred Mass 2 because it took away endless **** gear that you carry around for no reason, you don't carry around guns that you aren't trained in, it had a much nicer feeling to it than the first game did, it had better squadmates, and the Suicide Mission is possibly one of the greatest things in gaming... ever.
