(posted this in General Forum too, I don't know where it fits best)
Hello guys, and thank you for your time.
I am a photographer who doesn't play games at all, but is really obssessed with the Mass Effect Trilogy. I was recently given a MacBook Pro 15", 2011 Base Model with the following specs:
-AMD Radeon HD 6490M graphics processor with 256MB of GDDR5 memory on 2.0GHz configuration
-4GB RAM
-Intel i7 (quad processor)2.0 Ghz
which I basically use to process and edit my pictures on my travels (almost constantly), and does this really well. It runs Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5 perfectly. Now, I know it's not meant for gaming, and will not use it for that end really, but, since I'm such a fun of the series, I was wondering if I could actually play it on this laptop.
Does anyone know if I will be able to play Mass Effect 1 and 2 with decent graphics and fps with this configuration?
Thank again for your help,

AFAIK, the "base" version doesn't have any real video card, so you are out of luck. Intel video chips are not going to do it.

you can go here http://www.systemreq...tslab.com/cyri/ and select any game including mass effect 1 and 2 and it will let you know what you can and cannot do.

Please don't mistreat anyone with that foolishness. SR labs is so amateur, so wrong so often, they are a disgrace. Anyone recommending them is going to look like something they do not prefer to be seen as, Noob, Rube, or Troll.

If it does actually have the HD6490 in it, you shoud in theory be able to run it. Better question, is do you plan to bootcamp, or emulate Windows? If emulation, then I can only say good luck. If bootcamping or formatting and building with windows, then you should be able to run it.
