Not forgetting, the reproductive system needs way more then those bits, to function. Shepard was barely salvagable in the first place, so I doubt he/she is a perfect replica.  They  also mention, they had to use something to speed the process up. With such a delicate project, it's most likely 'some sacrifices' had to be made. The reproductive system would be on the lower end of that list.

If Ashley and Jack were fecund, I wouldn't be surprised to find that Shep's testicles were still floating in space orbiting that planet where the SR1 went down. Given the x-rays at the beginning of ME2, it isn't really that much of a stretch either.

Ahem. Contrary to popular belief, there is not a single "bone" in the penis. Therefore, Shepards nads and space schlong wouldn't appear in an x-ray.

Some would say that Shepard might notice if he woke up from the dead, took a shower, and then noticed that he was essentially the in the in-between stage of a sex-change.

But... if you meant that they would've skipped over the sperm delivery part of the deal, or the revitalization of the "tadpoles", it was probably put on hold unless TIM had plans for a mini-Shep.

Are you suggesting my FemShep/Liara's little blue science babies wouldn't be "legitimate" children? Gee do you go around telling children they're adopted for fun?

I'm surprised that people are convinced the Shepard is even capable of fathering children, given some of the stuff that's happened to him.

No gonads. Replaced by tech.

Edit: I feel I should point out that FemShep is actually more likely that MShep to have become infertile as a result of ... dying. As I understand it a woman is born with all the ova she will ever have and while I could imagine the revivication process reviving testes I don't see how they'd revive individual cells.

Edit II: Edit Harder: Having said that we do see individual red blood cells coming back to life in the cutscene so maybe that's unfounded.

Well, we learn from Miranda that cloning is so progressed, that itsnot wholly impossible for her to have parts from donors cloned for her, or that she doesn't have tissue samples on file with the alliance.

Also, that blood could merely be from a transfusion.

Are we going back to carrying a baby in a bag? Like the old days of BG2?

Could be, at a cellular level or a mixture of the two.

Only if its to chuck the baby like old chinese food.

I'm joking, I'm Joking. I play as an infiltrator, so I'd just drop the bag, cloak, and walk away.

Honestly, I reckon it's a pretty good idea to have children whether "little blue babies" or human ones. I think legitimately speaking, it'll probably be with Jack/Ashley/Kaidan/maybe even Miranda but as a whole idea, this sounds great. I mean, everyone should have the chance to play out their own Shepard. For some of us, maybe we believe that "the simple life" is the ultimate reward. Why not start that family?

I had just been thinking about this topic on my most recent playthrough.  For whatever reason I was paying more attention to the discussion of drinks and food, and it hit me that if humans have bad reactions to Quarian food and drinks, and Quarians don't get sick so much as have an allergic reaction to human germs, then procreation with Tali would be a no-go.  That led me to wondering, what exactly would the other Quarians say?  Population control is important to them, and here is one of their own potentially entering a relationship that can't produce children.

I think they simply wouldn't care. Sure, Tali won't ever become a mother with Shepard as her partner (except Hanar, who seem to be medical advanced, can find a way how to make "it" working), but that doesn't mean the Quarians will die out or so. They're fine and population control doesn't depend on a single Quarian, even if that particular Quarian is a cute daughter of an Admiral bearing the name Tali. :P

I pray that the Hanar never do because this may be a result of such research (I take no pleasure in this)

I wouldn't mind my Shepard having a child with Ashley. In fact, and one of the posts before may have alluded to, it could be Shepard's reward. For all the rubbish and screwing around with his mind, the reward for enduring that woupd be a calm, quiet lucent in seclusion with his family. Especially if Shepard is earthborn seeing as he had no family to begin with. In my Earthborn Shepard's pov, that's all he ever really wanted, someone to call family.

this is a very scary thread.
I thought ME3 was about defeating the reapers?. and after the Collector attack i really don't think he/she could have kids.
