Well I was wondering about the romance thing, did shepard and his/her LI really do it? It looks so in ME1, but what about ME2?

Ok maybe they did when its with Miranda or Jacob or even Jack. But what about the aliens(Garrus, Tali, Thane)?

I believe if you chose the dialogues for them to stay then it happened with all of them.

Clipping issues (and worries about whether or not they'd gross people out) most likely kept the scene more 'chaste' than other options. Heck, the guy can't even hold a rifle without it clipping through his collar.

Well of garrus and shep didn't go all the way then I really want to know what he was researching for half the game. And what the 'comfortable positions' booklet mordin sent shep was about :-)

That's a thing left to imagination. For example, the cabin scene with my Shepard and Liara in ME2 took over 2 hours.

What qualifies as going all the way in situations where two species are not sexually compatiable? What if Garrus has a cloaca or Tali is sporting an ovipositor? In those circumstances does mutual stimulation until climax is achieved count? And if so, would it have to be through physical contact, or would use of nerve stimulation equipment be acceptable?

As for the humans, I think all signs point to Miranda and Jacob going for the prize. The Renegade sleep with Jack scene defiently didn't stop at heavy petting. So far as I'm concerned though, the Paragon Jack romance scene remains somewhat chaste.
