Dragon Age 2 was a major let down, a 10 dollar DLC is not any sign of loyalty to the community or the fanbase.

Rather they just focused on the expansion, as I'd pay for that if it was reasonable, but this? No.

Agreed.  Not gonna happen.

I think the screenshot doesn't do it justice tbh

Another 800 point dlc. Seems to be the norm those days. Probably some 1 hour, 1.5 hours max content. I dont think so. Unlike ME2 this game is not good enough to buy 800 point dlc's.

I think the fact that Bioware took their time on this DLC is proof (to me at least) that EA knows they can't rush RPGs and expect it to be incredibly successful.

But, enough EA conspiracy theories from me. Question: Besides the doppelganger technique the Pride Demon employs, does it do anything else that is a new attack or even certain old attacks? Can it summon allies like the Baroness could? Can it do that vortex thing from the main game? Can it cast some top-tier spells?

He's obviously the Old God Baby.

I'd say he's obviously a kossith. The forehead is dead giveaway, and quite unlike Architect's while at it.

Surprised no one else pointed it out, yet.

He's obviously Yuna wearing a Girdle of Masculinity, look at that heterochromia.

I had hoped armor, outfit for the other compagnions, not a new powerful weapons for Hawke.

He has already a lot with all the dlc.

I'll rephrase: that particular picture seems like a mixture of several elements from different DA2 locations.

They reused some textures while building a new area. Are they not allowed to use ramps, columns, or fences any more or something?

New DLC, more changes, new location and my companions still can't be bothered to change their clothes.

All jokes aside, this comes out a day before my birthday. I was severely disappointed with Dragon Age 2 and I'm not sure whether or not to get this as a birthday gift for myself. If I'm disappointed, it will be more like a slap in the face gift from myself, to myself. If I like it, then it will feel like a breath of relief and may just restore a slight bit of my faith in Bioware, again. Which would be nice, but that genlock alpha, companion clothing, and no word on the length of the DLC is giving me the former feeling than the latter.

Heh, just watch one of the areas be all sparkles and rainbows just to spite the people who say "give us different areas and they CANT USE THE SAME TEXTURES/COLORS/FEATURES!" Image IPB

Most of the textures and art assets are reused, from what I'm seeing in the screenshots and footage.

To be fair though one of the main complaints about the game was the re-used areas so to expect new textures would not be an outrageous demand

I am really looking forward to this!

My only complaint is that it will be released after my vacation has ended...

Yes, you are right!

I mean, I see wood and hay in there, which I definitely saw in the original. And I am pretty sure I saw both stone, cloth in some other picture and, I see weapons in all of them!

HOW DARE YOU TRICK US LIKE THIS BIOWARE? I TRUSTED YOU!

appreciate the Genlocks people! They are your friends! Your fearsome yet also cuddly friends!

As opposed to the clownspawn Hurlocks who inspire no fear whatsoever.

Genlocks = fearsome.
Hurlocks = chalk covered clowns
Ogres = things that had an entire tree smack them in the face.

I agree with this, although a major retcon, there not as bad as the hurlocks.

Plus i think the genlocks we've seen so far are the alpha variants

It DOES look like a Kirkwall warehouse, but more detailed and much better looking.

Sorry mate, but I'm not seeing the detail... at all.

Hmmm, I dunno.  As I said, I haven't played it for a while...  I the red banners and extra stuff there make it look better to me.  The colour and lighting looks better too but again, could be my memory.  Needless to say, i'll be starting again soon so i'll see the warehouse plenty of times to refresh my memory ;)

I always throught that by "reused areas" they meant all the maps looked the same pathwise to the point you could close your eyes and find your way, in addition to the map showing areas that were "blocked off" in the current area.

I dont expect a cave to have different textures than another cave if it's within the same range unless something is making it special. Same thing with warehouses and mansions and all that jazz. Different pathways sure, different "decorations"  sure, different ramp / stairs / pillar placement yes.
