^that.

This DLC looks like garbage.  Pretty much exactly what I expect from Bioware nowadays.

He's obviously the Old God Baby.

I'd say he's obviously a kossith. The forehead is dead giveaway, and quite unlike Architect's while at it.

Surprised no one else pointed it out, yet.

Nah, man. That's Malcom Hawke who comes "home" to get the help of his son to overthrow the evil darkspawn overlords aka the Old Gods to rule Thedas alone, with his son as his apprentice. And if Hawke isn't willing... he can sense that there is still another Hawke that could take this place.
Hawke will enrage, they fight, Hawke loses his hand and the next time they see each other Malcom saves his son from the flame breath of an Old God, which he throws into a deep pit in the old warden prision and dies in the arms of his son!

Sounds original doesn't it? Don't think anybody used that story before! :D

They reused some textures while building a new area. Are they not allowed to use ramps, columns, or fences any more or something?

Heh, just watch one of the areas be all sparkles and rainbows just to spite the people who say "give us different areas and they CANT USE THE SAME TEXTURES/COLORS/FEATURES!" Image IPB

To be fair though one of the main complaints about the game was the re-used areas so to expect new textures would not be an outrageous demand

I always throught that by "reused areas" they meant all the maps looked the same pathwise to the point you could close your eyes and find your way, in addition to the map showing areas that were "blocked off" in the current area.

I dont expect a cave to have different textures than another cave if it's within the same range unless something is making it special. Same thing with warehouses and mansions and all that jazz. Different pathways sure, different "decorations"  sure, different ramp / stairs / pillar placement yes.

I agree that generally caves look quite similar and that they all had the same layout, but personally when i look at that screen shot that i believe is in a grey warden prison or dungeon, i can just see the warhouse from kirkwall.

I havent played the DLC obviously so I maybe proven wrong (hopefully I will) but it does seem a tad familiar, the layout may be totally different and as i said in another post its probably the screenshot not doing the level any justice:)

People who sign up simply to troll the forums aren't worth responding to. I'm interested in seeing more; we don't know a lot about the Hawke line, but we've heard more about the Amell line haven't we?

At first I thought it looked a little like the warehouse. The ramp and the area directly left of the ramp looked kind of similar in structure. Kind of. But then I saw the Bronto cage, the torn tapestries, the cavernous low ceiling, the different railings, and different walls, and I didn't think it looked like the warehouse anymore.

The fact that they registed just to say that crap says they have no life.  Going by the user name, they also had to sit through the boring EA conference just to get to the DAII presentation, a game they hate by a company they say is garbage, hmmmm.

Coming from someone who enjoyed DA2 very much: sorry BioWare, but that picture does look like My First Level I made from the Dragon Age II Toolset, if the toolset existed. I'm not criticizing Legacy as a whole, it was just my initial impression of that particular screenshot. The other screenshots look cool and different enough in comparison to this one. I also like the possibility the new weapon may afford in kicking the combat up a notch, but that's hard to demonstrate in screenshots only.

That's why people should watch the trailer (I saw it on Gamespot's site), the voice acting is great and Legacy becomes much more appealing.

Cutting quote pyramid...

anyways, we only saw one side of it. When i am able to see the entire room, I'll judge it. Not every prison can look like Fort Drakon or Howe's prison below his manor Image IPB

With decreasing quality in the second trilogy and one VERY annoying character that shall be mocked throughout history! Not to mention spawn a meme on the scale of Enchantment! Image IPB

appreciate the Genlocks people! They are your friends! Your fearsome yet also cuddly friends!

As opposed to the clownspawn Hurlocks who inspire no fear whatsoever.

Genlocks = fearsome.
Hurlocks = chalk covered clowns
Ogres = things that had an entire tree smack them in the face.

I agree with this, although a major retcon, there not as bad as the hurlocks.

Plus i think the genlocks we've seen so far are the alpha variants

Indeed they are, as I think Luke Barrett clarified on that.

Also, to be clear to everyone.... when I talk about Ogres, I mean the DA2 versions. I miss DAO's Ogres Image IPB

Quite right, it is unfair of me to judge the DLC by one screen shot (however similar it looks to a certain warehouse), but from the gameplay demo the areas do look a lot different from the deeproads we saw in DA2, plus the area in the screenshot with the bronto looks brand new and visually impressive

Im' done, you kill me. :D * laugh *

Frankly, new locations,  well not so new, What ?!! they are new.... That's what people expect mainly for this dlc ?

Yes, it's cool, but it shouldn't  ruin your day or inspire you as much.

I don't know, the story, the darkspawn design, graphism, the choices, the characters. If there will be rpg features like lostb ( well i dream I know )

Yeah, i personally cannot wait for it. I am hoping it's more than an hour thorugh for $10, although an amazingly quality hour MAY be worth it.

Maybe the prison has its own warehouse? Image IPB

Just watched the Gamespot trailer on YouTube, it looks great. I wish I heard companions speak though. It certainly looks epic from the trailer, I hope it lives up to that. If it is as good as Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival, i'll be happy. As long as the companions are fully involved in the story.

With all this feedback, one would hope. Otherwise even I will rage!

Well they have to have a place to store all their extra...erm...keys? or prison documents? If it does end up being one, i totally want one of my companions to go "This place seems familiar, but i cant quite place it..."
