Why is it only coming in AUGUST for the PS3? What is the exact date? Everyone will spoil it for me when they play it before me. I'm sad now.

Capped the trailer here.

Thanks for taking the time to cap it.

I'm sure people are going to eventually compare that Hurlock Alpha to the Mouth of Sauron so we may as well get that out of the way now.

Just a thought that ocurred to me while
reading the plot for "The Calling" novel. You know, stuff like Hawke
being another one of Maric's bastards, how Duncan found a family for the
kid with Malcolm and Leandra, etc., etc.. Very long shot.

A disturing thought. And here I thought DA2 would almost entirely seperate Hawke from The Wardens, which is not a bad thing.

We'll see to it after the release of the dlc. I'm eager to listen to the explanations

I would have thought they would have known better than to do that again after RtO.

Like I said this should be a tribute to the fans as a recognized apology that they screwed up, followed with another patch which fixes or a retcon service, and an announcement of either an expansion or the new game which reverts to the tried and true practice, not the crap-tactular storm of crap that was DA-2.

DA2  had too many reused areas and too many mobs.  Other than that it was a good game with some of the best quests and companions in any BioWare game, so not they owe no apology.  They are aware of the couple things they screwed up but DA2 despite the problems was an enjouyable game with some great companions.

First off, the re-used areas, too many mobs, and crap gameplay is WAY MORE THAN ENOUGH of a reason to apologize.

They did way more than a couple and the majority of people that talk about DA-2 are usually only insulting it from what I've encountered.

And the story was not all that good in the first place as it focused on something to such an intense degree that it drained itself out.

I was not able to gain a single moment of enjoyment from DA-2 and I really tried to.

Your loss, many others disagree, speak for yourself but not for everyone.  It's flabbergasting that so many that hated DA2 would not have the brains to just stay away from the dlc instead of having to regaile all of us about how much they hated DA2 for the 1 millionth time.  Go play DAO again, or the witcher or wait for skyrim or whatever else you do enjoy.

QFT but someone is going to come in and try to discuss the "lore" to derail the conversation of how sh!++y the game and DLC are.

I'm interested in knowing what this Darkspawn dude knows considering he predates the Tevinter Imperium.

It's a tad pricey for my taste, especially since the original game was a bit lackluster for me. I'll likely hold off on this until I find out how long it lasts and how much of a role companions play in it. For $10, I'm expecting something....pretty substantial.

^ This. As for the DLC I must admit the story has peaked my curiosity and intrested in what will happen.

I enjoyed the new animations and most of the gameplay (paratrooping ninjas can go to hell). People would say that it wasn't tactical but I never found Origins tactical either. I would love to see some tactical gameplay as I enjoy that immensely, but DA doesn't have it for me. I doubt it ever will.

The side quests were probably the best I've ever seen though. Each one (save for the FedEx quests) had amazing little stories. Granted, they should've affected the game beyond that but still.

The companions were also some of the best I've ever seen in a game.

For me, the only complaints was that 1. it was buggy and 2. re-used areas (which were only a minor annoyance to me).

Perhaps you don't like it, but many people (including me) thought it was a good, even great game (I don't even know a single person IRL who didn't like it). The story and setting was imo a nice change from "go to x amount of places to progress to the ending".

I am not trying to make this thread into one were we discuss the main game, there are plenty of those. I simply mean that all games are not for everyone. You didn't like it? That is your loss, but you can't go on and require free stuff just because you didn't like it.

I'm very curious as to what this "harsh truth about the Hawke lineage" is.

Me too.

MY guess is that Hawke's father was some kind of run away grey warden... but I hope not because that's just too obvious of a guess.

that or he was combined with genlock and escaped to be with his wife then got captured again and now a mindles genlock since his father was a  bloodmage so maybe thats the super secret of the wardens?

and the genlock's face looks almost like hawke's male face

I agree with this poster, especially about the statement I bolded. :)

As for tactical gameplay, I really don't think any single player game will ever have it for me either seeing as I play World of Warcraft as well and I'm part of an end game raiding guild so the bar for what is considered "tactical" gameplay is set pretty high... =\\

This can be played from any point during the campaign. However, can you run it from the POST-campaign save?

I won't mind having to replay Act 3 on my canon PT to play this though... Dark pasts and angst get me all hot and bothered and I'll do anything for them.

It's likely out of their hands and caused by the length of approval process that goes at Sony, or smth.

Hello to the small mass of people that actually enjoyed and thought this was a "good game". It's funny that the developers boards is the only place on the net that I can find people that think DA2 was a "good game". Maaaaybe, if it wasn't a sequel to DA:Origins, and I thought I was buying an actual "sequel" to a game I loved, I'd have a slightly different opinion. To the few thousand that reside on these boards that for some reason thought it was a worthy sequel, please stop egging Bioware to keep producing this crap, it's very irritating. Ask for the DA2 "features" to be in a new IP, and leave the Dragon Age IP out of it.

Bioware will not get another dime from me for the Dragon Age series if it continues down this road, and it is a huge shame since I LOVED DA:Origins. DA2 was the biggest 180 for gameplay and quality for a sequel in a series I've ever seen in 20 years of gaming. Huge fail IMO, hope you don't screw Mass Effect 3 as well, another one of Biowares' IPs that I enjoy and hope to see them wrapping up the story, not changing the entire freakin game.

Oh well!  Seems like it's going to be awesome, and I'll have to avoid the forums for awhile.
