I enjoyed Awakening immensely, re-used maps and all (which isn't cool and I don't approve of in the least bit, but I still enjoyed playing it). I was having so much fight beating people up that I couldn't put it down, but then I greatly prefer the combat in DA-2 to that of DA:O and since you spend the majority of your time fighting your way through dungeons, I was pretty much entirely engrossed.

Plus the companions were a hoot. And I absolutely freakin' love the re-design of the Qunari.. They are the shiznit. I loved all of the re-designs, including the elves. It fleshed everything out a bit more and gave each race more distinction, which is nice.

Sure, it's imperfect - I thought that the third act couldn't hold a candle to the second, but I didn't lose any steam in getting to the end. The character interactions are part of what makes the game for me anyway and they were all excellently done.

So yeah, bring on the DLC. I'm happy to have more to play.

In my opinion, the most encouraging sign about this DLC is that it wasn't rushed out a month after release. Considering that one of the most common criticisms of DA2 was that it felt like a rush job, I am encouraged that they took their time with Legacy. Of course, we'll see how that pans out in a couple weeks.

ooo trailer analysis time!
anyone else see that female warden sporting the 'justice glow'? hmmm

The magic held for '2,000' years, is this how long this not-the-architect has been bound?
does this mean it's one of Hawke's ancestors from that long ago? Maybe Malcom was bought in to do some maintenance on the binding? I kind of hope Malcom isn't revealed to actually be a grey warden... it seems a bit of a stretch to me (oh Anders, your giving hawke daddy issues will never end)

how would Malcolm being a Grey Warden be a stretch?

Has anyone noticed how the 'enemy' thing looks like the Architect wearing Champion armor? Could Hawke undergo some kind of corruption?

The Conductor is another intelligent Darkspawn. The Architect wasn't the only one prior to Awakening.

I wonder if the Architect's fate will be connected to this in some way?

Yeah, that makes it rather apparent its the Architect's model brought into DA2 and given the DA2 art revamp of adding jagged metal spikey bits to Hot Rod Samurai him up:

Just compare the same stretched out skin on the face and the same large style shoulder pauldron things.

Never really noticed before, but the architect has an H.R. Giger-esque quality.

Not to mention how close the rest of his body is.

well they are both human like emissaries, and Darkspawn don't exactly look much different from one another within each type.

However, these two do have some differences. Facial structure, eyes (when you see the Architect's eyes there's something wrong with them.)

Sure they changed things, but just as the Architect's model is a derivation of The Arcane Horror, this Conductor fellow is very clearly a derivation of the Architect model. Maybe its a plot point but its probably just as much they needed to get more mileage out of the Architect's model.

And yes, for all the dissing of the DAO darkspawn being LoTR clones, I find the DA2 ones far more similar to LoTR's orcs, whether its the similar type armor or the Mouth of Sauron...I mean, the Genlock:

If only there could be a DA villain as creepy lookinng as The Mouth of Sauron.

The Architect and Conductor look like human Grey Wardens who decided to fore go dying at their Calling and instead let the change happen.

This new guy has the kossith head. Hence the difference.

Well, the Architect doesn't seem to have eyes, just a mask that covers the holes where they're supposed to be.

Also a few more screenies:

Circle Bethany with party (sorry if it's a bit blurry, the damn scene only lasts for half a second)

Mage summoning what seems to be a revenant

The trailer says I have to wait until sometime in August to download it to my PS3..... great.....

I would have thought they would have known better than to do that again after RtO.

It's likely out of their hands and caused by the length of approval process that goes at Sony, or smth.

I would think they would delay the release of the other ones to accommodate the issue with Sony. You know, without telling us. I know that's counter to my own personal interests, but it just kind of looks bad otherwise... and appearance is important. Something BioWare seems to be managing pretty badly ever since DAO was released.

I watched the ea broadcast earlier and I just watched the trailer, the trailer looks awesome! Cool grey warden mage robes (I can admire the clothes, right?). I'm really hoping for an Alistair cameo and hoping Bethany will be a warden in my party. And Anders turning on Justice looked BAD ASS! Totally stoked now.

Why should Sony be effectively given power to hold back every other platform? I'd think the opposite is more desirable -- if the other platforms get their releases faster, maybe it'll eventually force Sony to match them in speed. Meaning the customers getting their PS games faster.

Hmm, Could be good.  But ten bucks is pretty steep for a DLC.  I am wondering:

1) How long a DLC will this be, roughly?

2) I see that you have your companions with you for this.  Is there any dialogue with them?  Let's face it, companion interaction was one of DA2's major redeeming features.

3) Is this a dungeon crawl, or will there be choices to be made?  Moral decisions, consequences, that sort of thing.

4) Is this a standalone adventure, or does it tie in to anything going on in Kirkwall?  Will Cassandra question Varric about it?

I wont buy this, because Idont want certain bugs going over into it. Is it just me or is this game reminding me more and more of fable, specifically fable 3. and

WHy NO FEM HAWKE IN THE TRAILER!

BioWare doesn't have a stake in the platform wars, I should think they would be more interested in not alienating fans from any platform.

Mm, I associate Fable III with relationships with cookie cutter NPCs, button-mashing single player combat, and tons of extremely useless features.

The DLC for this game seems no different than what a DLC from DAO might have been like. It'll probably be different--but the trailer itself doesn't present a very Fable III quality to me.

Also, because Male Hawke is the face for the marketing team. Why confuse people with showing a female and male PC?

I actually wonder why the Grey Wardens all wear clothing that looks the same. Can't they have different armor and robes?

I mean, it should be a strictly BYOS type of Order.

BYOS = Bring Your Own ****.
