I'm just glad to be in a forum where people aren't complaining about DA: II being the worst game of all time. I just came here from gamespot and their comments section on the trailer and the forums are all filled with haters. Yes, this game is not perfect. That said, it is still very good and was worth my time and money. I can't wait for the DLC! Plus, I'm a 360 owner and will be getting it on the 26th.

Besides this is basically asking a company to give up on profit they can make otherwise -- as the number of people interested in the game gets smaller not bigger as the time goes on. And the few weeks of difference may well mean the difference between sales to people who still toy with DA2, and no sales to the same people who have eventually moved on. Since it's all supposed to be for the sake of "fairness", isn't that quite unfair to ask that from the company, when the cost of it is going to him them, not the player?
A voice of reason. At last.

So it is just a side quest? If it doesn't address any of the issues with the game I don't see any point in getting this.
It may explain *Warning Spoilers ahead*
[spoilers]why Hawke disappears with the Warden[/spoilers]
but beyond that *shrug*

Only thing I really want to know is whether Bethany/Carver will be available if we do this DLC after Act 1. If they are dead it would be kind of weird but I guess it would make sense if they are Grey Wardens.

First off, the re-used areas, too many mobs, and crap gameplay is WAY MORE THAN ENOUGH of a reason to apologize.
And the story was not all that good in the first place as it focused on something to such an intense degree that it drained itself out.
I was not able to gain a single moment of enjoyment from DA-2 and I really tried to.
For me, the only complaints was that 1. it was buggy and 2. re-used areas (which were only a minor annoyance to me).
And for me, 3. The story in Act 3 sucked so much donkey balls it went down in history as probably the weakest section of gameplay that Bioware have ever produced.
But yes, this game was no total loss. Maybe I'm not the die-hard RPG purist I thought I was, but I personally liked the gameplay, particularly for the mage. Fortunately DA2's problems are the types of problems DLC *can* fix.... which Legacy sounds like it's going to in that it delves into Grey Warden/Darkspawn lore, it pits you against horrid monsters in new areas... and most importantly, it appears to get us out of sodding Kirkwall.
I can honestly say I'm looking forward to this. I doubt I'll do it in the first or second acts, though... unless this 'legendary weapon' makes for a better staff than The Final Thought. One thing that got me in Act 3 other than the almost Plan 9 From Outer Space so-bad-it's-funny narrative was the fact that I'd loaded up all this awesome gear and mega spells and didn't have that much to use it on.

I'm going to wait to see the buzz about the DLC before deciding to buy it, but if Bioware's been listening to us like they claim they have, then this...this may be the first DLC I buy since RDR: Undead Nightmare, which I had to buy because ZOMBIES.

Now *that* was the kind of setting I wanted in the base game.

Looking forward to seeing some new areas and fighting some genlocks and an ancient darkspawn. As well as the unique weapon I won't get to use outside the DLC

Here's the demo of Legacy,
That just raises further questions. Why break seals? Aren't seals usually sealing something? What's being unsealed? And as for the weapon, well, swag is fun... I just hope the important weapon isn't that one with the melted-looking end that should be impossible to use as a dagger, because it's a fishhook...
Please be good, oh please please please...

Why won't you use it outside of the DLC?

To be honest I'm mostly looking forward to it because it's outside of Kirkwall.
Same here. It's a little sad that this is enough of a selling point to justify getting it in my mind, but ultimately I'm not going to cut my nose off to spite my face - I hated kirkwall by Act2 but I enjoyed playing a mage, so this sounds like a good chance to play my mage doing something interesting rather than kicking about the same damn city for 10 years.
I'm intentionally holding off my third playthrough (2nd mage) for this, currently doing a run through of Mass Effect 2. Hopefully by the time I'm finished it'll be out and patched.

I've always assumed they meant DA3.

I'm trying to figure out on what, I guess he means because there's a new area or two. And you get a customizable weapon.
Unfortunately, that is not enough to save the original game for me. Probably got my hopes up a bit high.
All in all, it doesn't look so bad. I might actually buy this DLC, if the core game wasn't DA2.

Wait, I just saw the demo... is this for real? It looks like it's just 1 new area and 1 new little quest. Meh. I mean, did it actually FIX anything that was broken in the game? What "feedback" did it take into account? (Regarding the Chris Watters video)
How is that different to any other DLC ever released by either BioWare or any other company?
I'd reckon that Legacy will be a relatively short detour that is tangentially to the major narratives or characters. Sometimes, they will contain significant plot points, characters or content that were cut from the game due to time and budget restraints. Or, in the case of release day DLC, good ol' greed. But I have yet to see a DLC that overhauls either the gameplay or story of the main game while fixing it's flaws. I doubt I ever will.
You're expecting too much from a DLC.
On topic: looks cool. Not particularly interested, but it could be a decent DLC especially for those who love the main game.

You're right. I was just hoping that the DLC would save it somehow. Actually, it took a long time to make this DLC, so maybe I had the right to some increased expectations. But you are correct, I don't think there's enough DLC in the world to save DA2, as decent as this looks.
