I would like it if the Devs could answer this, because I can't play it until I know when it takes place. I know it CAN be played at any time, but which act is it supposed to be played on. Which makes the most sense story-wise?
If I had to guess which made more sense, I'd go with mid Act 2 or beginning of Act 3.
Doing it in Act 1 might not make as much sense because you're preparing for the Deep Roads anyway so it'd be silly for you to play Legacy, come back to Kirkwall then have to raise 50 sovereigns just to go to another expedition at the end of the act.
That's just my opinion though.

It wasn't DA:O, sure, but I had fun with the game and I look forward to Legacy. Now, of course, I'll get branded as a 'fanboy' and my opinion will be written off accordingly.

Is that...the ARCHITECT?

I think that's an interesting question. There is an achievement for taking your sibling (Bethany/Carver) along, isn't there? Does that suggest Act 1? Or that its better in Act 1? Also, it said somewhere that this DLC "spans a decade." I don't know where I saw that. (It may be inaccurate.)

This, plus that [SPOiLER] in act 2 Bethany becomes a Grey Warden so this makes more sense story wise. Carver however, it really doesn't matter 'cause he's a templar so...

not gonna buy this unless it's atleast 8 hours long, which it won't be.
So when you buy a $2 bottle of coke you expect it to last 2 hours?
How long a bottle of coke takes you to drink probably depends on what kind of drinker you are. If you like to sip it slowly and enjoy all the flavor, it could take you several hours. If you like to guzzle it down as quickly as possible to get on to the next drink, it could take you only a few minutes. :innocent:

Bethany and Carver can both become wardens.
But yep, still waiting for an answer on this. Because I'd like to play this DLC with SOMEONE in it and I'd have to revert to the beginning of Act 3 for that at least. I'm a roleplay dweeb also so I'd prefer to have it in Act 2 for various reasons. Derp derp. Shoulda waited to replay my canon Hawke until after all DLC comes out.

Yeah that achievment is gonna be tough for my character since I'm now a lone wolf in the family trying not to be too spoilerific if anyone who hasn't finished the game is even reading the forums.
To be honest what I'd wanted from this DLC was something in a tavern where Varric is regaling peole with tales of Hawke and they ask him to "tell them something they don't already know" and he comes up with this to "fill in the gaps in the narrative".

That's a nice one. But maybe, just maybe, it was supposed to hold for 2000 years, but was broken earlier... or somethingkarpik777 wrote...
Hmm, if the creature was imprisoned for 2000 years, who bound it? At that time there should be no Darkspawn or Grey Wardens (as the first Blight was supposed to happen about 1200 years before DA:O)...
BTW, was it mentioned anywhere what languages the DLC is going to support?

All languages that were supported in Dragon Age 2 are still supported in the Legacy DLC
