This is really farfetched but since Legacy is apparently about finding out some big bad secret about the Hawke family, could the conductor be some Hawke ancestor? Founder of the line perhaps?

Ahhh probably not

It may be the case that the Amells were Tevinter Magistrates, and perhaps they had a hand in the blackening of the golden city, if the story is true (or has some truth).

I'll be buying it just to find out what secrets the Wardens are keeping.

Anything else is just icing on the soggy found cake.

Parthalan #1
During the Exalted March, the Tevinter Imperium was in chaos. Magister Parthalan and two high-ranking magisters were sent to Kirkwall to put down a slave uprising before it spread to the entire empire. However, their legion never arrived at Kirkwall; no one knows what happened to the party, Magister Parthalan - or his fabled staff.

Parthalan #2
Magic has always run strongly within the Hawke bloodline. The tales passed down from one generation to the next tell of an ancestor named Parthalan, a mage who long ago helped to unite Ferelden under the rule of King Calenhad. Parthalan eventually vanished into legend, fleeing the persecution of the Chantry, but his legacy remains in the hands of his family - along with his hope that one day, mages would achieve the freedom that King Calenhad intended to bring to all men.

Both entries potentially refer to Hawke relatives.

However, it seems Parthalan 1 and Parthalan 2 can't be the same man.  Unless, there's just one Parthalan and his story was changed at some point making only one of these accurate.  Or maybe there's truth to both and one is a case of bad reporting or of history getting it wrong.

For one thing "Conductor" is a vague name like "Architect" is.  They both involve arranging things.  And the Architect and Conductor are similar visually.  Also, a conductor pertains to music and the Darkspawn hear a song, a blood music.

At any rate, it's possible one of the Parthalan's is the Conductor and that he's a magister, related to Hawke, imprisoned by the Wardens and has the darkspawn taint.

Does anyone know the timeline on Parlathan 1 in relation to the Blights?

Just wondering if it's plausible that the truth behind the magisters and the start of the Darkspawn taint could be tied to the Conductor (a possible Hawke relative) somehow.

It's possible I think.  This might go along the lines that the Hawke family might be related to one of the Trevinter Archons.  Wouldn't surprise me.

Why is a group of thugs interested in Hawke's blood?  I think this was mentioned during the live stream when showing the game play.   I'll have to double check Bio TV to make sure.

It's possible Parthalan the Hawke relative had an ancestor who was named Parthalan. And he was a magister.

People name their kids after ancestors. So there can be 2 Parthalans.

Yaaaay! *excitement*

Lots to love already, although I must admit I would prefer if it were playable only after the main story. I understand why it can't be that way though, but still. :P Same gripe I had with Arrival. Just doesn't seem like it fits with what's going on in the various acts, would be cool if it was playable at any time in the space -between- acts. As in, you get the option to play the DLC once an Act ends, essentially playing it in the gap in between. *shrugs*

But yeah, a minor complaint that doesn't detract from my excitement of the other stuff. :D

Mhhh I like.

That means a new design for the darkswpawn ?

In any case, happy to see again, a story with the wardens.

He's obviously the Old God Baby.

OGB isn't canon. If it's the case, the Conductor wouldn't appear in non-OGB files.

Retcon save everything B)

Very interesting theories. Curious if this Parthalan does get fleshed out into a proper character beyond a DLC weapon.

I doubt it's Parthalan, look closely at the link's name:

"CORYPHEUS".

....Leave Kirkwall, and journey to an ancient.....

Yep, that's me sold.

Oh yes, and the staff thing, that sounds nice.

Anyone else think the big angry dude looks like a Strogg from the Quake series?

Hawke vs Makron...

Okay, THIS IS IMPORTANT

If the conductor is Hawke's father, will his appearance change like with other siblings

I seriously doubt the Conductor is Hawke's father.  The Conductor being ancient evil and all.

Eh? I got the impression Hawke's father had pretty much a tied up ending.... unless he's supposed to have faked his own death and went to live in a Grey Warden prison, years before the blight?

Nah....

The Conductor is supposed to be hundreds of years old. Or even a thousand years old.

I'm surprised some people thought the combat looked in some way different, somehow more tactical, it looked exactly the bleedin' same to me.

I was never going to buy it anyway though, my days of spending money on Dragon Age 2 are well and truly over, I just can't stand the combat and that was never likely to change. Aside from the combat the new areas still looked as dull, lifeless and bland as they did in DA2.

Will it really worth $10 (about 16% of $60)? Only time will tell.
Not day one buy for me.
