Problem: game purchased on steam after download I press play nothing happens .
Game selected features high quality and all... lowerd to lowest problem persisted.
drivers updated, problem persists,
checked solutions on forum? Allr posts reporting the problem ignored. 
solutions suggested in bioware  forums by user: crack the game... is that the official solution?
Followed manual steps...reached on being redirected here.

A gamers complain: can I ever buy a bioware game and press play and actually work?  (preferably before I decide you are not worth a peny?) I buy online versions cause I change countries a lot so cds are no options.

fixed it the problem was that I did not have direct x 9 installed (thought I had it and did not reinstall it with the game) here is a link on how to solve it if you have a similar problem:
