I like Tali, she's one of my favorite characters and my Shep's romance option. I'd like to see her specifically, but other Quarians as well. However, seeing some other random Quarian's face before hers would be an insult and ruin the impact.

I see this discussion on forums not even related to the ME universe quite often. I know some people want to see her, some don't, and some could care less either way. So.. Unless you've already decided on a good way to reveal her and intend to do so, but if not instead of simply deciding to NOT to do a reveal, find a clever way to enable the player to decide this so everyone gets what they want.

I haven't put a lot of thought into how to do it but it could probably be creatively and immersively worked into a chat with another character who is talking to Shepard. Probably Joker, asking Shep about her if that player is involved in a Tali romance.

In general I am getting tired of seeing this discussion and am looking forward to when it's done and done so there won't be any more.

Krogan head butt, it would make revealing Tali's face a moral dilemma.

Wont really work. Once they give her a face, it won't matter if you want to see it or not. It will no longer be whatever you imagine it to be. The cat will be out of the bag so to speak.

And again, be careful what you wish for. It would be sad if the reveal came due to her getting shot fatally in the faceplate.

I like Tali (but definitely NOT as a LI), but I have one request. Fur. I am tired of all the aliens looking like amphibians, reptiles, elephants and octopi (?).

I hope it remains a mystery.

Aww, that would be terrible! Poor Tali! :crying:

I 100 percent agree with this, I think it should be up to the players to get tali to take her mask off.

I think it's most likely that it'd be if Tali was Shepard's LI.
Though in that case they really should have done it back in ME2...

As long as its not tied to her romance and its a non-event when her face is revealed (because surely almost everyone on the normandy including Shepard has seen it at one time or another) then I'd be fine with this compromise.

My view is thus: Let the player's game decisions determine how Tali looks if/ when Shepherd (or other character)

unmasks her.

If Shepherd is a Paragon, let's have an alive (or not - boo hoo), and pretty - if not gooey skinned light averse Tali take off her protective clothing.

If Shepherd is a Renegade, let's have a possibly dead/ injured Tali (in a moment reminiscent of Star Wars "Luke I want to see you with my own eyes") take off her mask and with shrapnel injured face look at Shepherd.

OOH OOH! - Not forgetting that for Tali to remove her mask is akin to a demure lady "knowing" a man/ woman for the first time, it's a big moment; depict it thus  - gentle, special, a fragility and delicacy, a fleeting moment of beauty which leads to (her/ their - if both female) feminine maturity and stronger bonds with special other.

Options are always good.
I believe that if they do reveal her face then it will dissapoitn way mor epeaople than it will please since most people always think of Tali as beatiful and only a few want to see her bad.if she is revealed i can guarantee that she wont what most people expected so there will be many pissed of fans

There's ONE way to beat that -

MAKE TALI'S FACE RANDOM!!!

Every character gets their own version of Tali!  NO SPOILERS POSSIBLE!!

THAT'LL TEACH THE TROLLS!

(I'd laugh like hell if they did something like this!  )

@cyclospdias, It's a good idea. I wonder however if it's realistic. (Not that ME1, ME2 OR ME3 are/ will be realistic).

Tali lives in a purple suit, with little light, she has almost no immune system and she doesn't leave it ever, so we have seen thus far. I wore a drysuit once (scuba diving) I was a sticky mess - If she is a beauty I think they will be doing her a dis-service.

What is your view?

Maybe the can somehow have a design your  own Tali, similar to the Shepard creator. Of course, there better be a hell of a lot of options.

Considering there are so many people who don't want to see her face, i guess its only safe to not bother unless Bioware come across a design that they are completely 100% about.

Personally, i'd like to see what BW envision her to look like, and i am a tali fan myself (Not a talimancer however, Ash all the way!).
TBH i think its a good idea to think of Garrus (Or some other Alien romance) in this instance, i mean his as alien as you can get, yet ppl still enjoy to romance him since his such a badass. To me, the same applies to Tali, her appearance shouldn't be such a big deal. That said, i'd still prefer it if she was reasonably pretty, while still alien looking.

One point I'd like to make, Tali was one of my earlier romances in a run-through, though not in my final savegame ready to be imported into ME3.

I didn't feel like she had enough character, plus in a battle she would die straight away (even properly configured) - so I wouldn't bring her onto the field of battle.

If she's loyal, send her through the tunnel to open the doors and then send her back to the ship with Dr. Chakwas (with or without the rest of the crew). She should be fine.

Well why can't a player imagine that Tali doesn't look like that in their game since they would choose not to see her face?

Some people like to make the argument that if their femShep doesn't persue a relationship with a female character, then their character is straight, and not bisexual or lesbian, even though you are given the option to choose.

I agree with this. Power to the player. And for those of you worried about it being spoiled for you, don't look for it. Der.

How could anyone have seen her face except Shepard if he romanced her ? I mean it's not like she's ever out of her suit, when you try to romance her she explains how she would like you to see her face (meaning you haven't before)... There's also that matriarch in the bar on Ilium who says that noone else remembers how quarians look without their masks (or suits, or something).
I really think it should be an event, as least as much as revealing archangel was in fact garrus.

She should appear uncovered in the end of the game depending on choices during the playthrough, her mission could be related to reclaiming the quarian homeworld, then depending on the mission outcome she would or would not reclaim it, if she did then in the epilogue would show her, Shepard and her people going to the planet, then Tali would take of her mask, if she was Shepard's LI they would kiss, then all the other quarians would take of their masks, then all of them would throw the masks up like graduates throw their hats, then the epilogue of a different character would appear, what do you think?

You can't have it both ways in this situation. It's not about whether or not someone wants Shepard to know, it's about whether or not they as players want it revealed.

I for one think it's a little silly to imagine that Shepard didn't know what she looked like before the romance. Everything is on the internet these days. Everything. And it's supposed to be the future, so, even less privacy. There's not a single image taken of quarians pre-geth or taken in a clean environment that hasn't been uploaded to the extranet? Not possible. Especially since it's not like quarians have reverence for the masks. They hate them, they're just forced to wear them.

I think Shepard's expression during the romance was for the player's benefit (as if to confirm she's not some horrible cthulhu). I highly doubt if he was interested in Tali he didn't look up 'quarian faces' on the extranet.

I don't think that's such an impossible thing for quarians to remain a mystery to the wide majority of the population of the galaxy. They're what... 17 millions ? that's between the Netherlands and Florida, on a galactic scale, I suppose that's next to nothing...
Also, some people probably know what a quarian looks like, but knowing what a quarian looks like and what Tali looks like are 2 different things.
If you're told you're going to date a masked woman, nothing says she's going to be Megan Fox... she could just as well be Jocelyn Wildenstein.
