It certainly would explain the size being equal to the golems.

That's the new awesome bossfight for DAIII ... a Darkspawn that originated from a Harvester turned Broodmother.
Darkspawn Fleshgolems!

It's not like Darkspawn incarnations of other species aren't any bigger. Ogres are 20 feet tall, yet Qunari are at best 8 feet tall.
And the new Genlocks look awesome.

Sorry Eth, they are a LoTR rip off. And that stupid pasty skin again. *rolls eyes* More of the same, oh goody.

Exactly, some people are not thinking through the logic of their own arguments re size matching here. Also, some people don't seem to be able to think outside the box.
It's a tall 'dwarf' thats all.. because heck, its not like all humans are 6ft dead on.

I agree with you on a lot of stuff, but I can't here. If I wasn't told that was a darkspawn I would not have known what the hell that thing was.

Nah I'm not seeing it. That's the classic argument people have for the Darkspawn
I'm gonna need to see some picture evidence of a comparison between which troll type from LOTR (cave, mountain, trolololol) and the genlock.
I mean, I just don't see it.
Also, Hawke didn't strike me as a very tall person.

"Taller than their genlock cousins, the hurlocks are roughly of human-size ..."
Hurlock taller than Genlock
Hurlock same size as Human
Conclusion:
Human is taller than Genlock

Separated at birth?
But IMO calling darkspawn rip-offs of LOTR is incorrect for different reasons. The monsters in LOTR aren't the mindless hordes they're often flanderized as, which is part of the reason why they're far more effective as monsters than darkspawn.

What does it have to do with thinking outside the box. That picture goes agaisnt what their own codex says a Genlock is. It has nothing to do with us.

The mouth looks about right for a genlock mouth and the skin tone is a fairly good match for the genlocks too (Based on the image of a genlock in Dragon Age Wiki)

As to its size. Well, that comes down to an argument in logic based on eyewitness evidence surely. Ie, what is the evidence "in game" that "All Genlocks are Short" ?

The codex on Hurlocks:
Taller than their genlock cousins, the hurlocks are roughly of human-size but are possessed of considerable strength and constitution.
Now if I see a hurlock the size of an Ogre, I will apologize and retract my words
But until then, they're going against their own lore.
Edit: Also it says that Alphas are the tallest of their kind, but nowhere does it say that they're twice a large as normal, or more.
