Bow down before the Overlord you worm!

I'd be interested to know what people think the role of EDI will be in Mass effect 3.

EDI strikes me as a Character with a very dynamic & crucial narrative, often overlooked but instrumental to a mission's success. Who and what she is will no doubt be of significant importance to the events of ME3 : As a True A.I. , partially based on Reaper tech , and as the most technologically advance warship at Sheppard's disposal; E.D.I. seems to embody the conflicts raging in the Mass effect universe.

 I'm personally interested in her involvement at the trial : First ,if she's even present in the Normandy as it's being impounded and how the Alliance will react to the presence of a Reaper based A.I. (If they hurt her ill go ballistic , just thinking that she might be cut apart for study angers me for some reason)  Second , Will EDI be presented at Sheppard's trial ? If so , to incriminate Shep or prove the Reapers existence and clear his/her name.

Of course there is a lot more I'd like to know : How will the relationship between Jeff , the Crew , Shep & EDI evolve when face with total annihilation. Will EDI be spared by the Reapers in a "Fail" ending. Will she get Mirandafied ; New Holographic cat suit model (Why not) or will we be able to "custom paint" the Normandy for all us none affiliated Sheppards.

Your thoughts , wishlisting , interpretations?

I'm guessing she is going to pretend to be a VI so the Alliance doesn't scrub her off the ship or is about to be scrubbed when the Reapers come. From the deom wher Legion and EDI are talking, I'm guessing that she doesn't "die" or get altered by the moving of her bluebox.
EDI though is one of my favorite characters in the game, and I will murder any alliance rep or technician that attempts to alter her in any way. Also, I hope to see a love triangle between EDI, Joker, and Legion.

Synthetics don't get enough love around these parts, It makes me sad.

I'm really looking forward to her return in ME3 and hope that her and Joker might start an extremely awkward relationship.

Think about it?  What does Joker love the most,  the normandy and possibly porn.  Edi is the normandy and the computer... it's a match made in heaven.

Anyway what Edi and Joker were experiencing is more like a platonic symbiosis rather than hormonally-induced courtship behavior =P

Ha ha ha -- I love the title of this thread, it cracks me up And you know, it wasn't even till like the other day that I found out that "Six" from Battlestar Gallactica is the voice actress of E.D.I. --  Mad eh?! As to what I would like to see happen next in the characters evolution: I was a big fan of Andromeda starring Kevin Sorbo.The Andromeda was arguably the most immpressive warhip ever designed.She was omnipresent, or as Rommie would put it,"I'm the air you breath, Captain." :innocent:

Having E.D.I. recieve a platform that will allow her to accompany Commander Shepard on missions would be totally awesome And if I may be so bold, To this day, I still feel as though the chemistry betwixt The protagonist of the series, Dylan Hunt,  the captain of a Commonwealth ship, the Andromeda Ascendant. And the ship's computer, a powerful AI (Artificial Intelligence), who is a key character in the series.

Was never capitilized on I always thought that (even though fraternization is frowned upon) as a 'Thought Experiment' it would be interesting to see how or if a Captain who treats its ship as though it were his wife, might workout... Would it be bizarre? Yes.. Would it be interesting? Hell yes! Although I would like E.D.I. to look like (in some ways)  a Fem- Bot and not just a humanoid model with silicone skin: although perhaps Shepard would have the option of deciding how she looks,  just as we as players decide how he looks.That could be pretty cool
E.D.I. as a Love Interest in Mass Effect 3, get's my vote.

I'm not sure if a Geth platform could support EDI , If she's even compatible and if so to what degree in the Geth consensus. I don't think the Alliance or Council races have the technical know how to build something like that , considering the ban on AI research. I'd be willing to bet She'd be a power house of a Squadmate though, If she can sabotage enemy ships during combat she could probably explode a YMIR at a snap of her fingers. Too bad we'll be facing off against husks from the looks of it, i suppose her anti-Reaper algorithms could also prove useful on the battle field.

That said , I'm not sure giving EDI a more human form would necessarily a good idea, not from a military perspective at least.

She's still a military vessel , and should the crew begin to over anthropomorphise her , it would create situation where unnecessary risks are taken . Heck , Joker had a hard time letting go when the Normandy had neither Thoughts or a voice, and it cost Sheppard his /her life ; Should the opening sequence of ME2 happen again , he'd never get into that escape pod.

On the other hand it might be beneficial , if a platform could be used as a escape mechanism for EDI if a similar event were to occur. I guess its a question of details.
