Since I returned Dragon Age: 2 without playing it, I really don't care too much about the series anymore.
Huh? You're boycotting the series because of a game you didn't play?

Where did you see this at? I don't know if it's just because it's to early in the morning, but I didn't see it. (at least not anything recent)PresidentCowboy wrote...

RPG are supposed to be immersive experience...
Da2 was only and action adventure game and bad executed..so i have low expectation for da3..
When a team tend to want merge two different type of community the result its always mediocre..
Da3 will be a mediocre game or a bad one..

Well, if DA3 isn't a video game, then I am not sure why Bioware is making it. They make video games, after all. They are video game developers.

"Idiots Don't Play RPG's". Explains very well what i think
Of course. RPGs are sacred and should be reserved for the elite. The sheer complexity is just too much for us lesser creatures. Oh wait, no. There is nothing inherently more complex about RPGs and nor are the people who play them somehow more intelligent. Sorry old chap, but RPG fans are not the ubermensh come to raise up humanity above the worms and slugs.

Haha, well said Zanallen, what makes an RPG game isn't how complex the stat system is.As long as it has a skill tree, experience and levelling it's an RPG.

forget about any other game for a while.
Tell me you're joking about the companions. What exactly makes DA:O Companions superior to the ones in DA2? That was one of the best aspects of DA2 IMHO and well written.

DA2 companions were a little bit lack luster compared to DAO. Varrick was awesome, Isabella had her backstory already, I liked Aveline. They totally destroyed Anders, Anders used to be funny and cool - now he is just a p#$$i. Isabella and Merrill as LI's? I can either give my character AIDS or hook up with an old nanny in Sarah Jessica Parkers giraffe body. Blehhh!

For the companion thing the answer is: A thing called depth
For the stat system and the skill tree well isn't enought to make an rpg.. By what you sayng also GTA san andreas is a rpg in fact gta san andreas have skills and stat as well but this isn't enought to turn a game in a rpg...
And most important its not elitism its simple to have a game genre that stay loyal to his genre...
Bioware maded a thing like that:
Imagine if i take call of duty and from a war game i turn it in a simulation game like the sims in that case is normal that the costumers and the fanbase are pissed off..
Its happened with dragon age..
The first one was a nice computer roleplay game the second one is more a rushed action adventure game mediocre in almost evrything...
Where is the mistake?
The mistake is that:
You can't make RPG for people that don't like RPG's its so simple and easy to understeand..
And is also useless think to the customer like mass of brainless goat..
They fill trailer and interwiews with words like:
Exciting!.... Awesome!...Improved!!
But what they really did is trow out a title only to have a quick cash based on the success of the pervious game..
Right now i am simple Unable to take what bioware says seriously..
For me they lost all the credibility...
But hey we have toons of useless dlc to puchase!! object pack (Cash) Belt of blablabla(cash) Blade of lowlt(cash) Ring of bla bla (cash)
Nah i don't recognise bioware in this only EA but im happy because outside EA we have other serious company around

I love it.
Personally, I think the DA team should get some help from the ME team for DA3.

I am being absolutely sincere about companions and I never compared them to Dragon Age Origins so I don't know where you are getting your comparison info from.

It's WAY too late ppl. The decline actually started with KotoR. The combat was very dumbed down and alot less tactical than the BG games. That's when they stopped making deep rpgs and started doing interactive movies.
Rose coloured glasses the BG games aren't actually all that deep tactically.
