Longer answer - For the most part what we're messaging publicly is things we've been listening to from DA2 feedback.  But a large part of what we're doing with DA2 DLC is also addressing your feedback from DAO DLC - making meatier story based DLCs, making the DLC feel much more naturally a part of the main game (e.g. having V-C dialogue falls in this camp), continuing Hawke's story, bringing in all the followers, etc are all part of delivering on that.

I'm guessing that this is how the DLC can be playable anytime because of the framed narative, will it be like Varrics companion quest with Bertrand where Cassandra interupts varric at the start and a cut-scene with them starts?

Thanks, it all looks really interesting! Any chance you can answer how long the DLC wil be? I personally prefer quality over quantity, but the price does imply some several hours...

EDIT: Also random curious question Fernando: are you brazilian by any chance? Looks like it...

As usual, it'll really vary on play style - with Legacy we've added optional side quests and additional areas, puzzles, a pretty awesome (i think) easter egg, codex/lore items, etc for those that love to wander off and explore and read everything.

What I can say is that it is definitely bigger and (I think) more rich in content than any of our previous DLCs across DAO or DA2 (short of DAO's retail expansion Awakening), if that helps.  And with the reactivity to some of the followers and what point of DA2
you begin, I think it also has more replayability appeal than our other DLC.

Totally agree on quality - and this was a big thing from looking at DAO DLC feedback - so it's another reason it took us this long to release a story DLC, is taking the time to ensure that the DLCs are at least at same or better quality level than the main game.

Granted, there's a wide variety of opinions out there for DA2 :innocent:- but I think it would be safe to say that if you enjoyed DA2, you'll definitely love this.  And if you enjoy DA lore and story in general, you'll definitely love this.  If you're on the fence but open enough to give DA2 another chance, then taking my BW hat off for a sec I'd definitely recommend it, but also say maybe wait for more reviews or player feedback and double check that what we're doing with it appeals.

Sorry, no new followers, and the Carta dwarves you meet are male in Legacy.

Too bad. {smilie}
But they still exist?

Is there a cameo like familiar companion like Leliana (Exiled Prince)?
Only yes or no please.
We won´t need a spoiler. {smilie}

They exist (the race in general would have a terribly hard time procreating otherwise) ;).  However, they are all full time busy tending horses :lol: (jk).

You'll want to wait and see.  But V-C will play a part in the introduction to the DLC.

So excited!!! New quest, and returning voice actors... hope this means plenty of new dialogue from the companions!

PS - Bioware, I would pay ten times the price if an expansion gave us Shirtless Fenris.... just letting you know ;)

Thanks for all the information, Fernando. I'm really looking forward to this, and I'm so glad that Bioware is getting back to doing story DLC that includes our characters and companions.

And I'm glad that you clarified that it's not the Architect in the trailer, since he's dead in my game. :)

Fernando, I just want to say a big, huge THANK YOU. I can't even tell you how refreshing it was for me to read your above post. May I hug you? Posted Image

To be honest, the trailer HAS piqued my interest; it promises to deliver a meaty and satisfying story driven DLC which I simply adore. That being said, I will hold true to the decision I have made before (as well as your advice Posted Image) and wait to see what the general fan consensus is of this DLC. So am cautiously optimistic here.

And in conlcusion, a big THANK YOU to everyone that had worked hard on this DLC. Here's hoisiting a few to a great success (both critical and commercial).

PS. Awaiting the answer re: hugging btw. Posted Image

What's changed from DA2 to this DLC game-system-wise?

You've already mentioned that you've gotten rid of the wave mechanic for most combats and enemies don't appear out of thin air, you've also mentioned that all the areas are new.

Have you placed in a mechanic so I can see what a dialogue choice leads to? (ie right-clicking or hovering over a dialogue choice shows me the text/ actions  that's going to come next? That was a big issue for me with DA2 because not knowing what the main character was going to say, or do, didn't allow me to think of Hawke as my character -- I played sarcastic Hawke, which is why I only played DA2 once.

Does friendly fire exist on more than nightmare difficulty? Otherwise I'd be stuck on nightmare again which was very tedious.

Can mages do more damage this time around? I felt the mages in DA2 were glass nerf guns more than glass cannons.

I really hope the DLC is successful for you fine folks as I reamain a huge fan of BioWare, I loved the story in DA2 but I really didn't enjoy the combat or have any ownership over sarcastic Hawke, so unless this is brilliantly reviewed by people who enjoyed DAO I will probably give it a pass.

Good Luck!

Looks bad, I don't get why Hawke is bothering with the wardens at all? What about the fact that templars and mages are going all crazy on everyone.

As always, context is rather important. You've been given very little thus far - I'd hesitate to make any assumptions based onwhat you do have, but then, this -is- the BSN Posted Image

this apparently has to do with Malcolm Hawke, Hawke's father. that's more than enough of a reason for him to go there.

Plus, it can be played at any point. Not just Act 3

The description seems to say you're being hunted, seems like something you'd want to prioritize.

Does it make sense at all to play post campaign? Does the dialogue react to a post campaign save a'la Arrival?

Chronologically the post campaign save takes place before the Last Straw quest, so it's just as good as any act 3 save.

As long as you're taking in to consideration that the Post-Campaign save is technically before the start of the final battle then yes, yes it does.

@Fernando Melo

Fernando, thanks for the feedback, it's appreciated. From your comments so far, this DLC looks promising. Just to confirm, it appears that you can "enter" this DLC at any save timeline in the game. So, if I use one of my epilogue saves where I was reunited with Bethany in the final battle and Anders/Fenris were both sent to a "better place" ,Posted Image will Legacy DLC gameplay reflect this properly as far as available companions?

EDIT: Ok, looks like I'm confused here. Based on what Luke Barrett just posted, it appears that Legacy will take place before the final battle. So, although I killed Fenris, it looks like he'll still be around for Legacy??? Is this correct? As for Anders, I didn't think he was truly dead anyway.

Thanks,
Mike T

I really enjoy this thread!

And I agree with Masako52 *laughs* I´d love to see Fenris shirtless!

I must say, I can´t wait to dig more into the story. I am actually playing DA2 for the 4th time now, just charging up to play Legacy. But I hope BW has added more interactions with the characters as well in the DLC. I wouldn´t mind more Fenris and Isabela dialogue... :) Since I absolutly love them more than any characters ever

Another question; will there be more future DLC/expansion releases ahead? Like Origins had several DLCs...

Hmmm, playable from any point in the story. But i'd imagine it's suppose to be before the end because of the Varric dialogue with Cass. So this means you guys can still create the Anders DLC :) where we really find out what happend to him even if we killed him "wink" "wink". Like a dagger could stop that abomination =D.

(Don't worry Luke, I got this)

"We're not talking about that yet."
