$9.00. . .too much for this game. Gonna pass.

It's going to take quite a bit to get me to bite for this game again.

Maybe I'll wait for the GOTY edition or something.

Can we please have some gameplay footage of femhawke, pretty please :)

Question: Will our current relationship status be reflected in this DLC. That was one thing in DAO dlc that annoyed the ****** out of me.:(

Question 2: Do we get some awsome sarcastic lines! I love them so much especially the 'Do I look like the leader of this merry band of missfits to you?'  B)

Question 3: Is the new 2/H weapon any good? I found the warriors got the bad end of the deal in DA2. -_-

Question 4: What is the estimated bug count : P (just kidding) :wizard:

dlc looks promosing to me (but ok i would have bought it either way) but it comes out one day before my exams damn! that's usually not good =D

thanks for answering so many questions here, i have another one:

as a german consumer, will the VO from the main game also be the same in the dlc for any other language then english? meaning, could you also hire the german (and other) voice actors again for the dlc? (which where very talented btw, great job with german VO =D)

$9.99 or 800 BW points or 800 Microsoft Points or 76000 Schrute Bucks depending on your platform.

So what you're saying is: "we've listened to your complaints and fixed them now you only have to pay us another $10 to find out if we're lying to you"?

Yeah, thanks, I bought the signature edition, I'm not making that mistake again.

Looks awesome. I sort of miss the whole darkspawn killing thing.

I'll say one thing though: Anders better have some unique dialogue as you know... A GRAY WARDEN. >.> Just sayin'.

The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...

this apparently has to do with Malcolm Hawke, Hawke's father. that's more than enough of a reason for him to go there.

Plus, it can be played at any point. Not just Act 3

After I get the Bethany/Carver achievement, I think RP wise Act 2 might be best. Act 1 is so focused on getting money to go to the Deep Roads and venturing to kill darkspawn before then doesn't seem to fit well, and Act 3 is too involved with the templar/mage conflict. Act 2 seems like the perfect choice as there isn't much urgency until the Qunari get all riled up.

... does that mean we lose our morally ambiguous story style?

Dealing with darkspawn isn't typically morally ambiguous. They're the iconic monsters of Thedas. But I'm sure the Architect has a different take on it than I do.

Im glad to say that I'll be on my holidays abroad at the time of release so when I get back home forums will probably be full of players reviews which will help me decide if to buy it or not.

Aye, am very much interested to know this as well - I realize that this DLC will focus on the story that is being told (as well as some sidequests within that story) but I was wondering whether some VO variation was recorded to acknowledge Hawke's current relationship. That would definitely be a nice touch which, imo, will only aid the immersion experience, as well as adding that very nice touch of personal connection.

Oh, and Demon Velsper, to be fair, you do realize that the Signature Edition of DA2 was exactly the same price as the regular one, right? I seem to recall it was a free upgrade from the standard edition IF you pre-ordered prior to Jan 11, 2011 and then if you pre-ordered after that, you got the standard edition. So basically the Signatre Edition was at no extra cost - the same price was paid for the Signature Edition providing you with 2 fee DLCs (Sebastian and the Emporium) - whereas those that got the standard edition and wanted those 2 DLCs had to pay more for them... or am I remembering it wrong?

Look Demon Velsper, I know where you are coming from. For the first time with any game I jumped on the pre-order bandwagon (as well as most of the other bonus items) because it was a sequel to a fantastic game that provided me with countless hours of entertainment and immersion in a fabulous world. I understand your disappointment for I was just as disappointed... and I have been on these forums voicing that disappointment (and in those more lucid moments when I wasn't seeing red trying to provide some constructive feedback).

A $10 pricetag seems a bit much but from what I understand this is a much beefier, story driven DLC also longer in length than any other DLC we have seen to date (again, depending on individual playstyle, etc.). So I'm going to hang around these forums, check out what the devs care to reveal to us prior to the release and then pour through the fan feedback - then I'll make up my mind whether to buy this DLC and experience it for myself. The trailer looks interesting but I'm not convinced just yet. Heh, I think I was more excited about reading Fernando's refreshing posts than the tailer.

(Oh and just FYI, not my intention to pick on you, I just wanted to point out that lil tidbit about the Signature Edition ;))

So am I right to conclude that saying that all compagnon were brought back for more VO work , it does include Sebastian? because i'll be a sad panda if he's not included.

Absolutley this..

However, am I the only one who noticed that the darkspawn antagonist in Legacy is supposed to have been imprisioned for 2000 years? That puts it about 700 years before the First Blight, and about 800 years before the founding of the Wardens.

Oh doesnt the fighting remind you so much of DA2.....hey let's just pretend it's a story driven DLC and just show them the nitty gritty of fighting skills again.

It probably reminds you of DA2......because......it is DA2. I know. Crazy right?

Anyway, I can't wait for this to come out. I just finished up my third playthrough and I'm jonesin' for some new DA2 content. I'd appreciate if one of the devs could answer relationship status question.

Wouldn't buying the whole game again along with the DLCs cost more than just buying the DLCs?

Luke Barrett said that depending on your playstyle you can easily get at least 3 hours out of this DLC, and if you want to do everything in it it might take you 5 hours.

And don't forget bringing different companions along, etc. The companion interaction has been one of DA2's strongest features.

Idk for sure but I think I may pass on dlc, see if they make an expansion or wait for a DA3 but after the let down that is DA2 I don't know if I'll risk it.

Astonishingly even for me, I'm not really excited to know more about the Hawke lineage, even though I loved Leandra's storyline. Maybe because we don't really have a connection with Hawke's father during the game... I was hoping he DLC would focus on what happened between Hawke and his/her followers after the final events in DA2.

But knowing that there will be more tactical combats, less waves, different maps and more party banter has convinced me to get this DLC.

If there is one thing I love about this game is the relationship between Hawke and the party members, and how this connection shapes their personalities along the storyline. Aveline was a gem, I felt there was a real character there. It would be priceless to see them doing stuff of their own when they're not in a combat situation, like sitting to have a drink together at the Hanged man or playing cards instead of following Hawke to every corner... But I guess that's for another game.

What I do hope for this DLC is 2 things:
1) Real story, with emotional/logical choices and actual reasons for Hawke to kill or not kill, which sometimes was not the case in the core game.
2) Party banter consistent with the point of the story you're in or the relationship with Hawke. It was VERY awkward to see, for example, that interacting with Merrill during her final quest in act 3 led her to quite bland and even jokish lines, in such an emotional moment for her. It's such a tragic story, I would rather have her silent than ruining the experience.

What lines did Merrill say that were jokish?

When she says she can never go back? When she's crying for the Keeper because the Keeper needlessly sacrificed herself?

Merrill was traumatized by what happened.

Well, one thing I did notice and just shook my head at was when I decided to see if she had anything new to say at Sundermount after we resolved her quest badly, and she was just like "I hate to say, it but my ancestors were not thinking clearly when they decided to bury people on top of a mountain." Same as how you can talk to companions in Lowtown during The Last Straw and they'll talk about hat shops and such.

Of course I'm sure these aren't intended features of their dialog.

I wish the companions had more to say too (incidentally she always says that. She says it in Act 1 and Act 2).

I mean, I really wish Bioware had made the Hanged Man (night version) where all of the companions just chill out in Varric's suite and talk about Hawke's decisions in the quests. Just one or two lines for each quest (primary and secondary) would've been enough for me.

Took a look at the trailer, to be honest I am trudging my way through DA 2 currently, after having put it down a few times. Did 2 hours today...maybe by the time the dlc is available I'll have completed my first run through of DA 2 that I bought on release day. Sorry if that sounds bad, I am a huge fan of DA: Origins, and it's hard for me to adjust to all the changes, seems like a whole new game, unfamiliar..etc. I'll wait and see what the consensus is on the new dlc, before I buy.

Thanks for the update, though.
