I wish the companions had more to say too (incidentally she always says that. She says it in Act 1 and Act 2).

I mean, I really wish Bioware had made the Hanged Man (night version) where all of the companions just chill out in Varric's suite and talk about Hawke's decisions in the quests. Just one or two lines for each quest (primary and secondary) would've been enough for me.

Companions have an insane amount of things to say, the problem you're having, however, is that they do not have a wide variety of active ambient dialog (you talk directly to them and they respond but not in a cutscene/conversation). The majority, by a large amount, of their ambient dialog is from party banter while they are with you. BUT, I'll put in a suggestion for future production that there is more relevant ambient dialog for when they are not in your party. Can't say anything will come of it but it never hurts to ask

Yay! That makes me really happy! Could you also ask them if they could bring back execution animations for DA3? Maybe class specific ones?

Rogue: Grabs the enemy and slits their throat
Archer: Fires an automatic critical hit at the eye of the enemy, which you can see protruding
S&S: Dismemberment of a limb or decapitation. Maybe another one where you slam the shield into their heads?
Mage: Dependant on the element of the staff: Immolation, Electrocution, Poison, Freezing, GoW3 Hades style soul steal
2H: Improve a few of the Origins animations. One that comes to mind is Sten's where he turns around and stabs the enemy through the stomach with Asala.

Thank you Luke for answering my question. I've been waiting for a 2-handed sword that improves with level up and seeing What I believe to be the Key(is that what we are calling the Weapon?) in the Trailer be wielded as a 2-handed Sword really made me want to find if it had that effect.

I cannot wait for the DLC, I'm a fan of DA1, and its DLC, and even bigger fan of DA2. I think this game was done wonderfully. Everything about Dragon Age is inspiring, from a writers point of view, from a designer's point of view, animators, you name it. This is a wonderful game with wonderful people working on it. I'm counting the days to get back into the world. Until then I will beat da2 over and over for the perfect save..

I'm very excited, I'm a huge fan, and when my portfolio gets polished enough to turn in to Bioware. You will hear much more from me.

So, if I hear this game has some really good party banter and conversations, and especially if there's some romance with Isabela (etc), I'll give it a whirl. I do like that it has side-quests. Paying 10 bucks for one straightforward mission never feels worth it.

If it helps I can tell you that there is some incredibly comical banter between Isabela and Aveline. At one point I was actually thinking 'wow, I'm surprised we're allowed to put something like that in the game'. Anything else might be too spoiler heavy.

That's cool to hear. But yeah, I'm not sure how anything spoilery could happen between the party members, since this takes place before the end of the game. And pretty much, the party members relationships with eachother is the main thing I care about. More specifically, their relationships with Hawke.

Hmmm, but since it's an endgame save I'm using, I guess for this DLC I just assume that this already happened, and I'm just finding out about it now?

Man it's weird having new DLCs not be set after the game. :P

I'm looking forward to this one, should be interesting.

I think the only way we can really explore "after the end" would be an expansion pack, its just too complicated for standard DLC. Hope we get that, but I'm going to enjoy this and replaying DA2 in the meantime.

More party banter. Excellent. I think I remember Bethany bantering about Anders reminding her of her old man. I wonder if that will be a topic of conversation in this DLC.

This is me thinking out loud, but does this have anything to do with Stroud and his Merry Men? I would think that Architect 1.0 breaking the bonds of his cage would be much more threatening to the Wardens than Qunari.
While he wasn't in the trailer, Stroud could let the Warden lady know that Hawke was chilling around Kirkwall. After Act 2 would be a great time for Hawke and friends to gtfo of the crazy city to take a break from blood mages and Templars. It would make a good tie-in to how the two factions are desperately wanting Hawke to fix their when s/he gets back because of their absence.

What lines did Merrill say that were jokish?

When she says she can never go back? When she's crying for the Keeper because the Keeper needlessly sacrificed herself?

Merrill was traumatized by what happened.

In the cutscenes she reveals to be traumatized, yes.

I mean when you interact with her as a member of the party. I didn't want to say it like that because it's a spoiler, but since you've already done it, there it goes... In front of the dead body of someone so important to her, she simply said one of her default lines... If I remember correctly it was "Have I mentioned I don't really like it here?" After getting out of the cave and killing everyone, same thing, just a default line that was the same she spoke before the quest.

I was really touched by the story and all it meant to Merrill. I talked to her cause I thought there would be some touching comment like many I've seen in the game. If she said nothing, I would understand it as a moment of grief... I just think the line is inconsistent with what was meant for her at this moment, it was obviously something the developers missed by mistake.

I think it's a forgivable mistake, mind you. I enjoyed this game. But for all the little forgivable mistakes the game became only enjoyable, when in my opinion it had the potential to be a masterpiece.

It is.

As for Templar Carver he should be available to you as long as he's alive (If he's in your party picker screen but grey'd out, you're fine)

Sorry if this is covering something already asnswered, but I finally got to watch (had to wait for the escapist to post it b/c apparantly noone wanted Japan to watch- boo) the trailer- and the genlocks running and looking like gorillas was both funny and disturbing to me. What's up with the DK make over?

Not a buy in my book. The main game sucked and is not worth even a 2nd play through for me, not too mention buying and DLC for it.

Well why bother posting you freakin troll play something you like and quit paying attention to something obviously not worth your time.

God i hate the new age community that has flocked to the bioware forums as of late.

Since you can play at the end of the game (although the game think its before the ending), will Hawkes romance interact with the new content. Or will the same thing happend regardless if Hawke is in a proper romance or not?

(and for some strange reason Fenris is at my profile pic, and not my Hawke... I was Hawke earlier..)

First it is an opinion and eveyone has one, two I don't know what you mean by a new age, I was born in the 70's, third Bioware should want all opinions good and bad so they make a better game. In closing when gaming and PC magazines rate the game high and the user score is extremely low there is a problem.

so bioware now knows you don't like the game and won't buy the dlc, in which way does that help them? the only thing which would help them is if you post in the constructive criticism thread acutally construcitve criticism. posts aka "game suxx i won't pay for any dlc" don't help at all.

my question again cause it wasn't answered yet: what about the german (and other non english) VOs? still the same in the dlc as in the main game?

Thanks!  Really happy that you enjoyed that brief glimpse... we'll have more to show/talk about, and you'll hear feedback from actual players during comic con as well I'm sure.

The new creatures look awesome I think - the art team did a superb job (not just the Genlock Alpha and Brontos, but we have other new creatures too like the Hurlock Alpha).

All the followers are back and have new dialogue (same writers, same VO talent), and the party banter is fantastic.  And with the story ties to the Hawke family, Carta dwarves and Wardens you can also expect to see additional scenes with the siblings/mother, Varric and Anders.

Sounds like it's best played before the end of Act 2 then...
I'm still on the fence about this. I had high hopes for DA2, and while it did somethings right, many of my hopes were dashed by the end of the game. I'll wait and see, but thank you guys nontheless for putting in the effort.

We've got the same VO and text languages as DA2 core - anything in that will be in the Legacy DLC.

So just to be on the clearer side of things, If I happened to be mean enough to kill my siblings, which I certainly was, I don't have to suffer through them being resurrected just so they could whine at my face again? :D I don't mind Leandra being alive and all, but the younger siblings were so stereotypey and boring.

Anyway yeah I'm a bit interested on how the relationships are carried over. Especially the romance options... I mean it's not an expansion pack I get that, but some note about that could be nice.
