Contains a huge SPOILER.  I recommend against reading it if you're trying to avoid them.
(Appatenly one that had been release elsewhere before, but still, I didn't know it until just now.)

Given how reputedly badly written the expanded universe is, I think I'll stick with what's in-game for my cannon.

The only bad written things are Deception, and Redemption wasn't badly written, but if you like Liara and think she is a cool character after the LotSB DLC I warn you to not read redemption it will give Liara no redemption for looking for a backstabber like Feron for 2 years, it would only hurt your view of her character.

Dietz book was awful and mess up. The other books Revaluations, Ascension, and Retribution were all very good.

In fact Retribution is quite a good one considering it gave Cerberus a huge crushing defeat that TIM felt it would take Cerberus years to recover from unless some thing big changed it for him.

I was expecting Deception to offer up some insight into maybe TIM being so desperate and how he planed to recover and have Cerberus back in huge force by ME3, given it's only months after the huge blow had been dealt.

Reaper sh*t!!!!! Those 10 points are.... revealing!!! TIM was THE best indoctrination target of all time, even if by chance. As the Codex suggests, long-time indoctrination is more beneficial than the small-time version. So that may be (I'm pretty sure it IS) the reason why Cerberus is one of the enemies in ME3. As the Reapers float towards the Galaxy, they increase their control over TIM.

Why must I know this? You mean to say I won't understand the story even if I've played all three games?

OdanUrr because it really opens your eyes up to a lot of stuff that was going on before and after hidden in plain site, The Illusive Man is truly the best reaper agent ever, read some of the comics of the series also will help you to understand the series more and awesome videos you make! Also not saying you don't know the lore of the series of course not but it's always good to have more open insight.

@OdanUrr - You will definitely understand the story even if you have only played the three games. The 10 points are given so that there may be no doubts about the story/characters in the player's mind. They are meant to be fill-in for any holes in the story. For example, if TIM turns out to be indoctrinated in ME3, you'll know how & why. Or if he doesn't turn out to be indoctrinated, then you can conclude that he is acting for taking revenge against Shepard.

@Endgame22: "The Illusive Man is the best Reaper agent ever" - Totally agree with you. An infiltration in the highest echelon of Cerberus, which is already a major player in the Galaxy's fate.

I wish Bioware would just answer if Anderson just steps down as Councilor after ME2 or not.

All of my Sheps hate Undina so they wouldn't even suggest he take up a spot as the trash collector for the Galactic Sanitation Department.

Too bad now BW is saying our choice doesn't matter.
