That is a one shot special thing they did its like an alternative ending, he grows to be a old man and has Ryuk write his name into his death note because he is tired of living. He then ends up in the shinigami world and starts being killed off in order of the way he killed off each indiviual in the series, and he eventually comes to the conclussion that he is going to go to the shinigami king and make a deal with him or some such business...its been awhile since I read it.

The animated Star Wars Clone Wars stuff wasn't too good, nor was Batman: Gotham Knight. Still, some of my favourite scifi is animated. Futurama and Titan A.E., perhaps the ME animation film could be more like that last title.

If its like TItan A.E. I would most likely watch it.

All Anime that comes from Manga is never as good as the Manga.

Except for the anime One Piece, which is just as good as the manga because it's for 99,9% exactly the same (except for the fillers of course).

No Toei has made the anime worse than what they did to Dragon Ball with all the filler.

Also Bleach the anime is better than the manga because the manga itself sucks. 

WHAT? One Piece is about the only anime that actually has decent fillers that are supervised by Oda (One Piece writer) himself! Sure, some parts in the anime get dragged out too much, but not nearly as bad as Dragon Ball Z, Bleach or any other popular anime series.

WHAAAAAAAT? You say Bleach anime is better than the manga? Talking about stupid fillers, Bleach anime is the king of that. God, those pointless fillers in Bleach where really aweful and frustrating.

Yes, the bleach manga sucked, but the anime sucked even more!

Oda had nothing to do with the stupid filler show me a link if you think you are right.

And how can you say this is not worse than DBZ.



Bleach anime has backgrounds so it wins.

The One Piece wiki is crap, Oda did design some characters sure but animation, filler plots all done by Toei. The guys at Arlong Park forums would take you apart for linking to the One Piece wiki, thinking Oda helps out on the anime and thinking the anime is just like the manga. Be happy I am "nice" and helping you out.

Also ugly boring backrounds is still better than having no backrounds like the manga.

First, I don't give a crap about what the guys at Arlong Park think.

Sure, there are differences between the anime and manga, but the differences are extremely minor and unimportant. Comparing to Full Metal Alchemist (not Brotherhood), Trigun, Fairy Tail or Soul Eater, the One Piece anime actually stays pretty darn close to the One Piece manga.

Also, the fact that most fillers in One Piece are inspired by writings and designs from Oda that didn't make it into the manga is true. There are One Piece artbooks that show some of Oda's sketches, concept art and early designs that didn't make it into the manga but did make it into One Piece fillers.
 
Second, I do agree that ugly dull backgrounds are indeed better than no backgrounds at all.

It is not what the the guys at Arlong Park think it is what they know, they know more about One Piece than you do, you take what a wiki says to be true even when it has no proof.

Han****'s stupid love dreams? or Buggy's stupid fillers? or what Zeff did for Sanji? or making it look like Akainu and Blackbeard were just as strong as Whitebeard? I could go on if you want?

Really the only idea they took from Oda was the Daddy episode nothing from the artbooks has been in the show I don't know why you think that.

I've read the manga and I've watched the anime both, so no need to explain the differences to me.

And the guys at Arlong Park are basically just a bunch of hardcore nerds, even worse than us here on BSN. What they "know" doesn't matter when there is no evidence to back it up.

Also, you basically just summed up all your OPINIONS. And you know, not to be rude or anything, but your opinion isn't worth sh*t, no offense.


I didn't see much difference between the manga Whitebeard and the anime Whitebeard. I actually like Boa including her hilarious dreams. I think Buggy's fillers where not so bad. I actually LOVED the Davy Back fillers.

So yeah, go on with stating your opinions on the matter if you want, but in the end they are just OPINIONS. My OPINIONS are different from yours, so I say lets just agree to disagree okay? No hard feelings. 

So you ignore most of my post, pull the opinion card and you think Arlong Park has no evidence even when they do and your the guy who takes what a wiki says to be true.

Look I know what opinions are, you can like the anime all you want that is your opinion and that is great but if you think the anime is more or less the same as the manga, then all I can do is give you my pity and say read and watch One Piece over again and see that you are very wrong on this.

I personally think the One piece anime does the manga great justice. It also has the added responsibility of padding out the chapters of course so they do show nonsensical stuff and explain things a bit more in detail than the manga does.

They kinda have too.

Also I think one piece does "fillers" very well in that they keep up the spirit of the show very well and usually dont drag on for days weeks and months at a time.

But all the things you complained about, are necessary in an anime that follows and established manga so as they dont overreach on the manga and then start having to make things up on the spot.

AS for showing Luffy taking out the sea king, well with the way the structured the flash back I think it goes very well with the ending of the flash back and makes it go back full circle to the beginning of the series.
